It was a nice cozy hotel with friendly people at reception/restaurant. A couple of issues: Parking was tricky to find as there was signage. There was no shower or bath tub in the room. Only a shower nozzle on the wall beside the sink.

No one there

When I booked the hotel I didn't know that there was going to be no one available for a week. I was booked in for 2 weeks at the start of the year. I travelled for over 12 hours to a hotel which was locked, empty and in darkness. I had to phone security to give me a code to let me in. It was difficult to have a conversation because I can't speak Danish and he could only speak a little English. Once in the hotel there was a note to say my roon was open and the key was inside. Generally the hotel looked very clean and well looked after but the overall experience of walking around an empty hotel was like something out of The Shining. As their was no one their in the morning I had to drive to the nearest supermarket to get breakfast. Once I had found their was no one available for a week. That was enough for me to move hotels as I wasn't going to the local shop to get breakfast every morning

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Rigtig godt hotel med perfekt beliggenhed Vi havde et rigtig godt ophold på Hotel Skjern. Hotellet ligger centralt, og de fleste af Skjerns seværdigheder kan opleves til fods. Vi besøgte blandt andet Skjernpigen – "Nicole med stol", den legendariske Holger Danske, de smukke Vandhaver, den historiske Skjern Mølle og Skjern Kirke fra 1100-tallet, som gemmer på spændende historier om en skjult skat og det berømte "djævlehoved". Det var også interessant at høre om Skjern Netværk og den særlige "Skjern-ånd", som præger byen. Vi boede på 3. sal i et flot værelse. Tagvinduet på badeværelset var en fin detalje, og under et tordenvejr kunne vi følge lynene gennem vinduet – en helt særlig oplevelse. Morgenmaden var virkelig god med et stort udvalg, perfekt kogte æg, lækre pandekager og meget mere. Personalet var utroligt venlige, hjælpsomme og gav en rigtig god service. Det eneste, der trak ned, var varmen på værelset. Jeg ved godt, at det var sommer, men temperaturen var meget høj. Systemet med dørkode og TV kunne også være mere brugervenligt, og jeg savnede blandt andet TV 2 News. Alt i alt giver jeg Hotel Skjern 4 ud af 5 stjerner. Beliggenheden, de mange seværdigheder, den gode morgenmad og det fantastiske personale gør hotellet til et sted, vi gerne besøger igen. Med en køligere værelsestemperatur om sommeren ville hotellet være tæt på topkarakter.
