Not the Cleanest Hotel.
The reception closes at 2130. We arrived at 2140. To check in we had to enter a code into an automatic check-in machine. Unfortunately, our code was not recognised. There were no staff on site but there was an intercom to contact a remote call centre. Sadly, this was very hit and miss, being cut off several times. It took 40 minutes to get through to an agent who gave us a new check in code.
Having successfully checked in, the door wouldn't unlock until we had paid 2 Euro city tax via a credit card terminal. We tried 4 different cards and the terminal wouldn't read any of them. Another 20 minutes trying to get through to customer services eventually solved the problem.
The room was disappointing. It seems cleanliness isn't their top priority. Dusty pipes, sticky taps and floors welcomed us.
I very much doubt that we would stay at a hotel in the B&B chain again but, if we did, we would certainly make sure to arrive whilst staff were on site.
As a positive, breakfast was good. Continental and cooked offerings.
