Rating this one was a no-brainer. I used it for a one-night stay, after flying into Munich in mid-afternoon and taking a train next morning for Berlin, to start a 4-week vacation. Took a train from airport to Hauptbahnhof (main station) and the hotel was right across the street from the station's south entrance. That made the next day's departure effortless. From front door to platform took 2 minutes. My room faced inward into a courtyard and was very quiet. Room layout and king-size bed were excellent. Breakfast was great -- I hadn't realized that this was a Marriott hotel and the breakfast reminded me of a stay at a Marriott in Zurich last year, with the same great selection. On my floor there was a self-serve laundry. I didn't need it, but it would definitely clinch my decision to use this hotel on a future longer stay in Munich. Too many hotels in their Hotels.com listings give the impression of having a self-serve laundry, but in reality it turns out to be a send-away service at ridiculous prices, in which it costs as much to wash socks or underwear as it would to buy new items. I wish Hotels.com would crack down on this and require hotels to specify what they mean by having a laundry. It would definitely influence my decisions. Transport options from this location are excellent. The station offers long-distance and local trains, a stop on the elaborate subway network, and a tram stop less than 100 feet from the front door.
