I recently stayed at this property while in town for the Virginia Tech game. I was initially impressed by the positive reviews, which led me to book here. However, upon arrival, the experience quickly soured. The office reeked of cigarette smoke, which immediately set off alarms. Despite the property being labeled as non-smoking and requiring guests to sign agreements to that effect, our suite was filled with the same overpowering smell.
The cigarette odor was so strong that it burned our noses. We tried everything—opening windows for hours, spraying Lysol, and using Febreze—but nothing worked. The smell clung to our clothes and luggage within minutes of being in the room. We had to keep our bags closed and, even after returning home, it took multiple wash cycles to fully remove the stench.
Although the room appeared clean, the overwhelming cigarette odor made it hard to appreciate. It’s disappointing that a non-smoking policy doesn’t seem to be enforced here.
