The room had an overwhelming smell of cleaners and air fresheners. The room was very humid as the floor always seemed wet. There was also an overwhelming smell of marijuana either being pulled in from the air unit or someone was smoking inside the motel. Awful experience.

To no fault of their own, the hotel was without running water when I checked in. I'm unsure if was the severe storm that blew in or lack of maintenance from the city. The attendant checking me in offered no methods to mitigate the lack of running water. Even a few bottles of bottled water would've been fine. I'm glad I didn't plan on staying in for the evening. After I checked in, I left to catch up with an old friend, and we ended up closing out the local bar. When I returned at ~2am, the water was running again, so there's that. When I first walked in after checking in, I immediately smelt musty cockroach. After living in a ghetto of a metropolis for ~5yrs, I'll never forget the smell cockroaches leave behind. Although, I didn't see any evidence of live cockroach activity, the familiar smell seeped out the walls. The tiles in the bathroom were not level, and some moved a bit when stepped on. I imagine there had been water issues in the past, which may be where the musty smell comes from.

It was a great experience. The breakfast was hot and the food was good. The room was clean. It was one of the hottest days in Manhattan and the air conditioner worked fantastic through the evening and night. The staff was friendly and check in was easy. It was quick and uncomplicated which was appreciated because we had both been up for almost 24hours and just wanted to relax and sleep.

Room itself was decent enough and had been renovated. Thankfully, there was no train the night I went. Breakfast was definitely lacking as by 8 o’clock. Nothing had been refilled and fruit Looked like it had been around a bit. Rooms with queen beds are on the backside of the hotel by the train tracks.

The shower in my room was hobbit sized and the water in the shower was acceptably warm for maybe two minutes. The water in the sink was good, got warm enough for long enough to wash my hands and face. Other than that, everything was good. No hassles at check-in even though I arrived rather late. This is definitely not a "hotel" you want to stay for comfort or quiet. The walls and ceilings are VERY thin. Gave "motel" vibes. Our upstairs neighbors sounded like a herd of elephants jumping up and down off the beds. We could easily hear the other neighbor's children fussing, while other people let their kids run amock down the hallways. There were very large water spots on the ceiling and stains on the bed coverings. Mattress cover had stains and crumbs on it. Large gaps in the doorways let a lot of light and sound into the room. Overall cleanliness within the room was okay and you can tell the staff tried to make it nice. However, this is definitely somewhere you stay for the price and nothing else. Clientele was questionable and rough. Only needed a room for the night (less than 12 hours), which was the only reason we stayed here.
