We were somewhat disappointed with our stay here. There was only one other family in the hotel and so it lacked any atmosphere and we were given a terrible room up in the attic with no view. Nothing but 2 inappropriate beds for 3 older adults and a couple of chairs. A kettle with no cups or tea and coffee. The lift doesn't go to the attic. No tea or coffee on arrival ( something that our 2 other hotels provided) The lady who served breakfast was very professional and we were served an excellent breakfast. I just think we could have been given a better room considering the low occupancy. It would have significantly improved our overall experience.

The Seljord hotel is a charming well maintained hotel in Telemark County, Norway. Breakfasts were excellent - full hot breakfast buffet. Dinners have pizza and a very small selection of typical Norwegian dishes. Note that the hotel elevator only goes to the 2nd floor - if you get a 3rd floor room you will be hefting luggage up and down one set of stairs. Bar service is available from 3PM and prices are very reasonable (for Norway). Our 2nd floor room had a spacious balcony. As most hotels in Norway, air conditioning is accomplished by opening the windows.

We had an enjoyable stay. We did not speak Norwegian, but the staff did a good job of communicating in English. Breakfast was good and plentiful. There were a lot of choices, breads, cheeses, fruit, juices, yogurt with different toppings, eggs and breakfast meat, potatoes as well. The hotel is within walking distance from shopping and restaurants.

Vi hadde et fint opphold, bra renhold på rommene. Personalet var til tider vanskelig å finne. Hotellet profilerer seg på lokal mat, vi valgte røye og den var forhåndsstemt og varmet opp igjen og derfor tørr og usmakelig. Fiskestykkene var tynne og små. Detoured ikke være nødvendig å forhåndsstemme røye, det tar kun 10 minutter å tilberede.

Et hyggelig, gammelt hotell midt i Seljord. Svært hyggelig og hjelpsomt personale. Litt lite å velge mellom på middagsmenyen, men frokosten var rikholdig og god. Lekkert dandert og virker hygienisk. Raus tilgang til kaffe og forfriskninger utenom måltid. Hotellet har et historisk bibliotek hvor man blir tatt tilbake i tid, gir et kulturelt preg- svært sjarmerende. Der kan man hygge seg med en kopp kaffe el. drikke. Det er parkeringsplass utenfor, ingen ekstrautgifter. Type seng varier på rommene, noen har kontinentalseng, andre har tresenger med fine treprofiler ( to dobbeltsenger på rekke, familyrom). Dessverre er disse tresengene ikke så komfortable å ligge i for to personer, man har lett for å "falle ned" mot midten, gjennom en hel natt er dette noe ukomfortabelt. Veldig bra hvis du har sengen alene. Sengekanten stikker oppforbi madrassen og det er noe ubehagelig med denne kanten når man skal utav sengen. Dette kunne vært løst med at madrassen hadde blitt hevet over nivå på sengekanten. Men, hotellet og personal er så hyggelig at vi ønsker oss dit igjen, og igjen.
