Conveniently located and comfortable rooms. Alishan is beautiful and very walkable from this hotel. However, given high cost of stay, front desk could be more accommodating to international travelers in explaining that there is no direct transportation from outside the park to the hotel and other important information.

The shuttle’s bus is really helpful, and the hotel provide great service and assistance to travelers to enjoy the Beautiful scenery of Alishan. Also the hotel inside already have a good thing point of the sunset

Alishan Hotel is a beautiful hotel in the magical forest of Alishan. We enjoyed our stay at the property and the magnificent trees surrounding us. The staff was warm and helpful and were eager to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and well maintained facilities with a convenient location to the forest paths in the park made this an unforgettable trip for us.

The hotel is very near to all the main attractions in Alishan. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Buffet dinner offers a variety of delicious choices. The old wing of the hotel is under renovation, otherwise it’s another nice sight-seeing spot with history.

Satisfactory and pricey.

Satisfactory. Rather pricey in comparison with what you got. You would be forced to book the higher price four-person family room when their regular two-bedroom is full if you are eager to sleep there, which I think most of the other hotels won't do it this way these days.

Fantastic location, clean spacious room

Fantastic location, just right next to the entrance of various trails. Room is spacious and clean but walls are a little thin so you can hear sounds from the next room. Complimentary drinks and snacks are provided in the room. Service is prompt and attentive. Buffet breakfast and dinner selection is wonderful.

This is my second stay since the last stay in 2017 (Modern Building). The hotel has made some upgrading to its rooms and is currently carrying out some upgrading to one of its floor in the Modern Building. For this trip, I stayed in the Historical Building. Generally, the stay is top notch for service, vibes and location (within the hiking trails). You have to pay for these and the good spread of breakfast and dinner buffet (Do consider you are at the top of a mountain). Did not disappoint me on this second trip.

The property is dated . But is is one of the only two accommodations in the park. The buffet dinner and breakfast has nothing to write home about. The shuttle bus only stops at the tourist information. The shuttle bus could have stopped at the train station but it would not. That makes people with luggage very difficult.

Room needs better soundproofing

Overpriced rooms with little to no soundproofing. You wouldn't want to pay 700 bucks a night for such minimal furnishing. Even more important is that sleep is important to catch the sunrise but with such non-existent sound proofing, nobody can get any rest Buffet dinner/breakfast is fantastic though.

Quality but not for the cost

As far as Alishan accommodation goes, this is likely far and away the nicest option. And it very well should be considering what they’re charging per night. Compared to another hotel I stayed at the night before in Alishan, this is a 6 star hotel. But compared to a lot of places I’ve stayed at in more expensive cities charging the same amount or less, it’s pretty absurd what they’re asking for. On the bright side breakfast, dinner, transport, laundry are all included. Not that that covers the cost. I’m chalking it up to supply and demand with hotels in Alishan. But the day someone opens up a relatively nice, well located hotel in the area, this place will have to drop its rates to stay competitive. Best part no doubt is the location. Could not be more conveniently located to the beauty of Alishan. There’s a Starbucks inside that charges too much too but it’s necessary given the breakfast coffee is essentially caffeine free.

Being in the middle of the park is wonderful. We were close to both the giant tree path and the twin sister lake path. We even hiked to the sunrise viewing spot. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast and dinner buffets were good. They have water filling stations throughout the hotel. Oh, the gym was not usable. They had 2 treadmills (one had a loose belt), an elliptical and a bike (both not working) and a total of 10lbs worth of dumbbells. If you don’t have a car, an overnight stay here maximizes your time in the park. Their shuttle does pick up and drop off at the bus station. That’s what we did.

Amazing Access to Trails, but Rooms Need Updating

The hotel was conveniently located in Alishan, close to the hikes, trails, and viewpoints, which made it easy to enjoy the sights. However, the hotel is quite old, and the rooms were simple and somewhat dated. The bathrooms weren’t the cleanest, but again, it’s really about the location. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent, though I’d recommend limiting the stay to a weekend.
