The room itself was big enough, clean and comfortable. The taps in shower and basin dripped constantly. Walls were thin and noise from adjoining rooms obvious. The shared kitchen facilities did not seem inviting. Good location.

The property did what was needed for one night, the linen was clean and comfortable, the queen bed was great. The single beds were a bit unstable I was told. The shower was great as were the towels. The unit itself was shabby and the floors need attention (I did not feel comfortable bare footed in the unit.)

Motel of last resort: old, run down, dingy and depressing - and not worth the money, but nowhere else in Queenstown available. Showers were hot, room was dark but paper-thin walls mean you hear every neighbour’s conversation, coughing and snoring. Avoid Queenstown if possible - except for the Railway Cafe for dinner - only redeeming feature of the place - a shame cos the scenery is stunning.

Loved the view of Queenstown from the carpark. The whole complex is old & rundown and the room smelt very musty. It was weird that the office was closed & you needed to ring a mobile number to check in - this should have been communicated as part of the confirmation. All in all, I would definitely not stay again unless the place had a major revamp.

Disappointing stay in Queenstown Tasmania

When we arrived there was a notice on door to call a mobile number as they were trialling virtual check in. My call was returned and I was given the code for the safe on the wall and collected our room key. The room was very dated and run down considering the amount we paid per night. We were unable to get good TV reception even after trying to move the antenna “bunny ears”. We were also barely able to get any of our own wifi from our portable modem. All taps in bathroom would leak constanty even after we tried to turn them off really hard then we struggled to get them back on. The crockery in the room was not washed and dried properly so we didn’t use them at all. We went to find the camp kitchen and were amazed, it was a very small room and it would be hard to get to use the oven etc as that is also the only kitchen for the backpackers to use. The outdoor BBQ area was so overgrown and grubby also. The microwave and bed were the best part of the accommodation.
