The beach was just on the other side of a retaining walkway but we had a picnic table on this walkway where we could see the beach. Pancake Rocks is a 10 minute walk. You can walk to the beach at low tide. The room was clean and roomy.

Good location but could not get the shower to work correctly was either cold or burning hot. There was a strong smell of sewage out side and is hard to find as reception is down the road in the pub. For the price was very disappointed we could not shower. Next door unit said there floor sloped down quite badly.

Beach Shack feels, close to pancake rocks and beach. It’s a shame a rock wall had to be built in front of it (must have been recently as this is not shown in photos of the proprerty) but can see that it would be greatly affected by tides. Picnic tables on rock wall was nice to sit and watch the sunset and catch some extra sea breeze.

The hotel was further than expected from the Intercity bus stop, but without luggage, it would be a nice walk. Check-in is at a different location, which when walking with luggage is a bit inconvenient. The beach view is blocked by a protective rock wall, but the shore Is easy to reach by climbing a few stairs.
