I had a long trip to get to Amsterdam (around 13 hours), and I was exhausted. I arrived around 11:00, and to leave my luggage there I had to pay for a locker. BAD I arrived during check-in time, but I and other guests couldn't check in because of a problem with the floor. I slept on the couch until they could let us check in, which didn't happen until about 2 hours after it was supposed to start. BAD I had to pay for a towel, even after this huge delay. BAD Overall, the place has a nice structure, huge potential, and friendly cleaning staff, but I didn't like how it's managed, and charging for things that should be a courtesy didn't sit well with me.

The staff was for the most part nice. Otherwise the room was very small. The toilet did not have a working soap dispenser. I had to use the shower to wash hands. The room was also very small. Which made it difficult when getting ready in the morning and having room for luggage. The best part was the location, which was near the Central station through one stop with the ferry. There is a lift in the hostel, but still some stairs in the main entrance, in which you have to carry your bag.

We stayed in a private family room with ensuite. Look, the hostel itself is great! Had a lovely girl check us in which set a welcoming tone. We had low expectations of the actual room and it matched our expectations. Utilitarian rooms that serve a purpose, sleep and shower. The bathroom was a bit yuck but ok. We all slept pretty good. Surprisingly well behaved backpackers, no drunken noise - different to my generation! My kids aged 12 & 14 felt safe. Ferry across from Amsterdam station was super easy, convenient and it runs 24/7 at no cost. Supermarket behind hostel. Washing facilities available but didn’t use as it was always busy. The most affordable accommodation in the whole of Amsterdam and I do recommend it for short stays with family.

The staff are simply the best - friendly and cheerful - while also being helpful and courteous. The common space is large and well-designed, with many small pockets of activities to engage in. It has a great balance of little cozy nooks to relax in, lounges for small groups, spaces for families with kids as well as large groups, and little workspaces for those on business. There's also a turf-covered atrium for a little cardio or yoga. Its location - walkable from Amsterdam Central Station - makes it ideal for not just trips around the city, but also for short trips around the city, or for a transit in Amsterdam on your way to the rest of Europe.

The hostel was good, they could clean a little better near windows and top of the beds where you have your electricity and lamp the black thing there had alot of dust, overall for the money its awesome, good bar to, never ate the breakfast there bought some sandwiches spent around 30 euro a day on food inside amsterdam
