Lovely old building with Latin Quarter literally on the doorstep. We had some reservations about noise and room size, having checked the usual review sites. But our room (overlooking Cross Street) had secondary glazing so the complimentary earplugs were not needed. The room was compact, but absolutely fine (my husband is 6'3" and he had no complaints), and was equipped with everything needed. It was thoughtfully laid out, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and attractively decorated. The hosts were friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast buffet was varied and more than sufficient to fuel us up for the day. There was a dear little book on each breakfast table, with a history of the building, which was a lovely touch. A few more plug sockets would be useful, but I guess our medieval ancestors didn't have so many devices to charge :) Would not hesitate to stay again.

This hotel wants to be more but it just isn't. The location is good if you want the nightlife of Galway. That is the one pro to this hotel. Now to the cons. Room we were stuck in was the size of a Harry Potter Closet room. The bathroom was misery personified. Mold/mildew in the shower. No room whatsoever in the bathroom. From the toilet to the wall is a tiny little gap. I will whole heartedly admit I'm thick still doesn't change the geometry. Nonetheless; I feel ripped off. We booked and paid for two nights. Stayed one, left our keys at the reception desk at 11am the morning of the next and called for some sort of refund. They did return half of my 2nd night. Which I know they didn't have to do, but they should have done more. Don't let the pics fool you. What a shame.

bunch of issues you can’t get to your hotel with your car, had to illegally park the car and get the bags to the hotel and then park the car at a lot a couple blocks away. the room was extra small where your bags block you from walking around the bed. the bathroom was smaller than a cruise ship if you ever been on one. the sink had one of the faucets where it has separate faucet for hot and cold. then i knew we were in trouble when they put ear plugs on the nightstand due to a noisy bar below. the room did have a good a/c and breakfast was decent only cold options
