My flight was cancelled and this was the only place available. Booking on hotels.com was seamless. The front desk was nice and personable…. Our room was on the second floor, very narrow stairs and no elevator. The room seemed clean but had a strange smell, dry wall patch needed in the bathroom, stain on the floor, a little dated… the area is great in the day lots to do and explore, but at night the crowds at the nearby establishment are loud ( hotel can’t control that) . Overall this wouldn’t be my first choice, but if you need a place to stay close to the beach this is a good place. The price was a little outrageous for what you get, but that could be the last minute booking

We had a great stay on March 7th and 8th. We had the corner room facing the shops. It was the first warm weekend of the year and the sidewalks were full of people shopping. My room was clean and the fridge and microwave worked. The bathroom could be nicer as far as the shower stall has some stains but it was clean. The gentleman that works in the office was super nice and check in was easy. Parking garage is small so i would recommend backing into your spot so its easier when you drive out. Overall we had a great stay and we would stay there again if we got the same room again.

Lets start with the bad, No Parking on site...it is a couple blocks away. Everything else was very good...friendly staff, their service, the room and accommodations, the cleanliness all as good or better than any i have stayed in at Va Beach.

It was a very clean room. The water pressure in the shower wasn't the greatest. The AC filters were dirty, had to clean them outselves to get the room cold. Other then that, it was a fine room. The staff was very friendly.

It's just ok of a place

For last minute the room worked. Ownership is trying. To be in such a great opportune location more can be done. Lobby personnel can be a bit nicer, understanding. And yet people who reserve here need to know 1) Not everything you see online is what you get 2) and you definitely get what you pay for. People these days should know if you pay Motel 6 prices your stay will not be like staying at the Marriott. I have faith Ocean 24 will work on getting their game together.

Questionable accommodations

The check in process was great with the friendliest people!! Our deadbolt didn’t work and we immediately received a room change. The room was very small but adequate. The cement corridor and stairs dipped unexpectedly and I had to use extra caution not to take a tumble. There were only stairs available. There was a small patio where you could overlook the boardwalk and beach. We parked in the small lot attached which was very convenient. While a pet friendly hotel, there was nowhere to take your pet. The grass attached to the hotel belonged to an ice cream shop and was marked not to use. This presented an issue. When we checked out, the man working was extremely rude and refused to give me a receipt stating I had booked through hotels.com. I doubt we would stay again.

The price was reasonable for what it was however, the room itself was not very clean. There was trash between the beds and behind the couch. The sheets on the pull out couch were gross so my littles had to share the couch which we covered in an extra sheet we got from the staff. The shower still had random hairs from the previous persons. The fridge tempt was not very good so we had to eat all of our food (leftovers) right away so we didn’t lose them. Most of the outlets wouldn’t work so we had a hard time charging our things. The staff were very nice and the location was great for access to the beach and other shops/food. They allowed us to check in early for a small fee which was great. It worked for our one night last minute stay but probably wouldn’t come back for an extended stay.

We spent two nights at the Ocean 24. It was relatively inexpensive for being right on the beach. When I arrived, I was surprised to see how much smaller this hotel was the all of the surrounding hotels. The Hotel is right on the trail in front of the beach. There is a limited number of parking spaces inside the hotel. Overflow parking is a few blocks away. The only way to the rooms is via the stairs. We were on the second floor. Outside the hotel rooms, the hotel looks a bit run down. The rooms, on the other hand, are very nice. There was a lot of hot water. The furnishings were nice. I have no complaints about the rooms. One of the recent issues at Virginia Beach is the smell of marijanna. People who wouldn't think of smoking in rooms have no issue smoking marijanna in rooms. The smell is almost everywhere in Virginia Beach. Outside the room, I could smell marijanna. The hotel is in a very good location. The owners were welcoming. I had no issue asking for additional towels or exchanging dirty towels for clean ones.
