Overall, the stay was pleasant. The onsen was very clean, the room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful! We tried the dinner buffet, the environment and service was great, the food was OK but not impressive for the price. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Mountain View, My cousin tried the Onsen and he loved it, restaurants are near by however most restaurants here close around 5 or 6 pm, hotel staff was very helpful in accommodating our needs and even calling us a taxi to the train station

It was in the mountains and the surrounding environment was beautiful. However, there was little options for food and it was quite far from other food options. The onsen was the highlight! The room had a musty smell in it but the view from our room was incredible.

What an amazing hotel. The highlight is the onsen, absolutely incredible. They have 2 onsen rooms, male and female. Both rooms have 2 onsens, indoors and outdoors, as well as a sauna. Changing rooms are clean with hair dryers, towels, lockers and other amenities. Staff were very kind, allowed us to borrow umbrellas when it was raining, they have a giftshop inside too. 10/10

Very secluded. No transportation near by. Great for a golf trip

This is a beautiful resort hotel right off the golf course, and in a lovely village near to Sengokuhara town. You can walk to the Grasslands area, the Botanical Wetlands, and Sengokuhara easily from here, and there are several dining options nearby on the village too. Clean, lovely facility with Onsen, friendly staff and great service.

Peaceful respite

It was quiet and the staff was wonderful. The food in-house was very expensive but not worth the price. The views are stunning and the property is pretty if a little dated.

Scenic, spacious, clean room in the country side

I stayed here for one night, and we were delighted. Our room faced out to the golf course, simply beautiful scene right in front of our room. The hotel is classy and filled with country vibe. It is very close to the Segokuhara pampas grass field, a good hiking place. Overall, highly recommended.

We had an excellent relaxing visit in Hakone at the Prince Hotel. The Japanese bath is exceptionally beautiful, has an outdoor tub from which the sunrise over the mountains can be seen. We enjoyed the extensive breakfasts- don't pass them up. We don't golf or play tennis, but used this resort setting as a base for sightseeing and hiking the region's mountain trails.

Fantastic! Beautiful Location, nice onsen, good room size with beautiful view, Only downside is that the golf grounds are not accessible to hotel guests not playing golf, and the shuttle is only once per day.

Isolated and dated

If you want to see Hakone and experience nature, this is NOT the hotel for you. I was disappointed to realise it is completely remote from all activities and services. No shuttle or reasonable access to get anywhere other than a corner store and couple of small restaurants on foot.

Hotel is decent, nearby Susuki grasslands are a sight to behold but no coin laundry/ microwave/ vegetarian food options may make it difficult for some families. Onsen is decent, tennis courts/golf facilities are good too. Although overall staff behavior was kind and polite but front desk’s plain refusal when asked for a water bottle at the time of checkout definitely didn’t leave a good mark.

It’s a big, old world hotel. We probably booked the cheapest of the rooms, which was still very expensive for what it was: a bit stuffy, old 2 twin beds room, no television, tiny old bathroom. I guess the high price was because of the holiday weekend. The view was very nice though (on the golf practice and mountains), and the Onsen was very pleasant. The staff was friendly and helpful, but communication was complicated as no one really spoke English.

Our room was just massive, so huge, with a gorgeous view overlooking a golf course. This is an excellent spot if you want to golf and relax. It is a bit isolated, and it is a bit dated and could likely use a bit of a refresh, but the large room and view was worth it. There is also an onsite onsen (Japanese bath).

Amazingly serene and peaceful location. Beautiful mountains around the ancient caldera adds to the uniqueness of the Hotel. Golf driving range as well as a full course is attached to the property.

This was recommended to us by our tour guides in Japan and it is a fantastic hotel. The food in the restaurant caters to every background and everything we tried was delicious. The hotel is older but has heritage and a great vibe because of it, and is very clean. The service was excellent as well. I went for a run one morning in the surrounding area and it is very quiet and enjoyable for a morning run or walk. Highly recommended in a very quiet "town" of Hakone.

6/10 Good

The hotel did not meet our expectations. It looked much more impressive in the photos than it does in reality. The location is very remote, far from the bus stop, with nothing to do except the golf course and tennis courts. There are no activities or facilities for children. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast and dinner buffet—they were far too expensive and not affordable for us. Because of this, we moved to another hotel with an excellent breakfast and dinner buffets at about one-third of the cost. The room furniture is outdated, and the hotel feels worn. The curtains should be longer, as the morning light comes through too early. They need to install some hook or a towel bar next to the sink so towels can dry properly instead of staying damp on the sink .
