Parking is tight if you drive a truck. Breakfast is free and substantial. Friendly staff and helpful. Room was clean and ready even though we checked in early. We choose to stay here when in Canada.

Old building but room was apparently updated. Felt safe. Security on property. Not a bad night. Breakfast was included at the Hotels restaurant and was extremely good. Free parking on site. Worth the price.

Historic old hotel with character. Convenient parking and proximity to great downtown restaurants. Skip the hotel breakfast.

We only enjoyed customer service and breakfast. Room was nice and big but did not seem cleaned properly. Washroom had a window with no privacy glass or curtain so the front building could easily see inside. Bedsheet was stained too. This hotel was not worth the price at all thankfully the breakfast, check in and check out experience was positive

Well, the room was a shambles and the whole place smelled poorly, but then the whole town smells poorly. Too many street urchins smoking cigarettes all about. Flimsy bef, broken furnishings, garbage in the hall. Breakfast included was decent good bacon - service was good in the restaurant. I don’t know if there is a solution for Thunder Bay. Should’ve been no more expensive than $50.

Property was old and worse for the wear. There was some evidence of attempts at renovations in one room we had but the other had cracked and broken furniture and the bathroom door didn’t shut completely and there were stains on the carpets. Staff was generally friendly. It’s in a good location next to the waterfront and nearby restaurants and we felt mostly safe.

The room was clean and the staff friendly. We appreciated the complimentary breakfast in their restaurant. It was good - not great.

The place was pretty clean except the headboards. I can see why. I took a towel to clean them from the dust and they were hard to reach, super high. I’m 5’5”. The door was hard to open and close, had to slam it. The floor and cupboards in the bathroom had seen better days but the shower was hot and good pressure with a rain head. Great location close to the waterfront even though there are some sketchy characters in the area. We ended up buying some beautifully painted rocks from a homeless man. He was very respectful. Breakfast was great! Had a wonderful waiter! We were actually served breakfast which is rare! All in all i would stay there again! Also the previous guests left their jackets and a pair of pants in the closet! I alerted the front desk on our way out!

6/10 Good

We had couple of problems with no room left for us on wifi but they got us onto the business server and remedied that. Bed came with only two pillows, asked for extra, got them. Staff was very attentive. What I DID NOT LIKE were the spiders. Five dead in bathtub, and another 6-7 were found in the next hour. Very scary for me as I’m allergic to spider bites. Killed another 4 in the morning before I could use the tub. Other than that and a woman begging aggressively in parking lot, well fot over 300.00 it was a price gouge. We’ve stayed in first rate hotels in Vancouver and Toronto and never paid much more. Pics are kind of deceitful as 99 per cent of hotel doesn’t look as portrayed.

We booked the Executive Queen Suite. Room was very clean. Loved having the bedroom separate from the living room. Air conditioner units in both rooms! You can tell the hotel is actively upgrading their rooms/bathrooms which is great. We also enjoyed have a Lake view! Breakfast in the restaurant was awesome! Staff were great - welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would stay again!
