I’ve stayed at a few different hotels in this vicinity, and this is the best one I’ve stayed at. It is ageing in a few areas, but the room was clean and in good condition. The breakfast was good, the bed comfortable, and the people kind.

Great for the price!

Stayed in Springfield while traveling through the area. Great option compared to other hotels around. Great for the price and value. The room was immensely clean with so much space!! My only complaint for the experience is while the walls from room to room seemed thick as I was unable to hear my neighbors, the walls between the rooms and hallway were thin. From the hallways you could hear conversations happening in other rooms and while in the room I could hear clear as day others in the hallway.

The room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of choices. My only criticism is that the tub/shower in my room had no grab bars. My friends said they did have grab bars in their shower. I feel they should be in all of the step in style tub/showers for safety.

The hotel was nice in its self, no complaints. What really made this stay above and beyomd was the staff. I mean, they were excellent. I stayed on the property 4/18-4/19. It is just such a breath of fresh air to see staff that just are kind people whinseem to like what they do. Holiday Inn express, whoever did the hiring at the Yellow Spring OH location, you have done a good job. Good service speaks volumes to me.

Water is so soft and pressure so low you feel dirtier when you get out of the shower than when you got in. Breakfast buffet is AMAZING though!

The hotel was newly renovated. The staff wasn’t the best. We were there for 4 days. They didn’t offer or come do any kind of clean up while we were there. Not even to empty the trash receptacles. After I left they charged me $150 for a cleaning fee citing there was trash everywhere. There were water bottles around the trash cans and on top of the entertainment center. Well if they had emptied the trash cans once, there wouldn’t have been any on the floor or on the entertainment center. I’ll never stay at that Holiday Inn again. If they are doing that to make extra money, I can only imagine what else they are doing.

There was a mixup with our room and the staff was quite unfriendly and unhelpful about it. The room we got had a broken sofa and some trash on the floor. Doubt anybody cleaned it. There was also a nasty odor in the bathroom which was replaced with the smell of bad quality fried bacon at 5:30 in the morning. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

Good Stay

Overall the stay was good. One reason I can't say great is because it is under going remodeling which is a good thing. Our rooms didn't seem to be updated yet. We had one suite and one standard room. We stayed for 4 nights and the beds were never made up in the room with the suites. I wasn't staying in that room. I wasn't told from the family members that were staying in that room that the beds were not being made up daily until the last night. I did not address it with the hotel. I am sure they would have rectified the issue had they been told. The employees that I had interaction with were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again when visiting family in Springfield.

The pool is closed the gym is closed and the key cards did not work. The keycards not working happened that day so nothing they could have done. The pool and gym and the fact the are remodeling should have been posted on the website. I would have book another hotel if we had know in advance. The room rate is not discounted based on the information above. Every time we left the room someone from the front desk has to walk us up to the room. When you enter the hotel the front desk person was outside the majority of the time and you had to wait for someone to come to the front desk.
