We (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed at the Volkshotel for two nights and found it was exciting and fun. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, fun/different and the rooftop with sauna and hot tubs were appreciated by the entire family. The breakfast was not that special and could be had at a different location.

The staff were all great, really helpful. The hotel is quite funky and we liked that. The bar terrace and restaurant were great, lovely to come back to after a long day sightseeing. The top floor with hot tubs and sauna was pretty cool and we loved the location, right next to a Metro stop. The room was quiet and functional but the blinds let in lots of light so difficult to sleep from the early hours.

We had a great 2-night stay at the Volkshotel. The staff were always pleasant and very helpful. The ground-floor cafe was nice and very convenient. (Good to know: When we were there, on weekends, the hotel restaurant and cafe only opened for breakfast at 8 a.m. It seems to be an Amsterdam thing as nothing close by was open either.) Because we were heading out on an excursion, we found a place open for coffee closer to our excursion meeting point. I also liked the location of the hotel. It is in an interesting neighbourhood and within easy reach of the metro. When I made our booking I was a little concerned that we would be older than the usual clientele, but I needn’t have worried. The hotel staff make sure all feel welcome. And bonus! We were offered a free upgrade from a cabin to a room with a bathroom. Very nice!
