Ermua is a thriving community where we felt really safe when out at night. The hotel is central with lovely rooms and fabulous staff. The hotel bar is welcoming and popular with local people. The bar serves a selection of tapas which are great. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Our ground floor room was cold and damp as if it hadn’t been used in weeks. The noise from the street made it impossible to get to sleep. The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. Calling this a Hotel is stretching the point, in our opinion it was more like a hostel. On street parking was pretty much impossible and whilst the hotel parking was reasonably priced but the access wasn’t easy as the damage and paint on the walls was a testament to this.

Not many eating areas in Ermua. The hotel did not have a kitchen, so we went out to a pub that had been recommended by the hotel receptionist.

The hotel is conveniently located, but its on a main drag. If you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room not facing the street. There is no air conditioning and when the window is open it is VERY noisy. Free parking located not far away from the hotel. Very easy access to freeway to get around Basque country.

Now I know the drill I would stay again

This isn't a regular hotel its more like a bar with rooms. The check in is in the bar but has no food service. for breakfast you go the the bar and order it there. The room was a good size clean and comfy with a nice large shower. For food I went to the mini market across the road otherwise its a hike. There is underground parking, the price of which had apparently gone up to 12 Euros as I arrived. The morning receptionist knows not one word of English and didn't seem interested in using a translation app.

Hurtig overnatning på vejen videre. Det virker som et lidt slidt område, så det er godt at man kan parkere i deres aflåste kælder (mod gebyr). Inden indcheckning får du en lang besked på spansk, som jeg ikke forstod meget af. Ved indcheckning blev vi mødt af en dame, der kun talte baskisk - og masser af det, uden at lade sig gå på af at vi ikke forstod et ord. Hun var dog meget sød, og det lykkedes til sidst med fagter at forstå hinanden. Værelset var rent og pænt, men noget gammeldags og lidt slidt. Indbygget aircondition virkede ikke, men til gengæld var der en maskine på gulvet, der larmede helt vildt, når den blev tændt. Det var uklart for os, om morgenmad var inkluderet i prisen, så vi spurgte. Pigen bag disken (der heller ikke talte engelsk), tjekkede noget på en skærm, og gik direkte videre til at fortælle hvad vi kunne få serveret. Her antager vi selvfølgelig at det er inkluderet. Bestillingen blev overtaget af en engelsktalende kollega, da vi ikke forstår baskisk. Morgenmaden består af en kop kaffe, et glas juice og en skive ristet brød med smør og marmelade (eller et stykke kage). Lidt sølle servering, for at være ærlig. Især føltes det sølle, da vi af den smilende engelsktalende blev bedt om at betale for det, for den første kollega havde jo ikke bekræftet at det var inkluderet, og det kan ikke tilføjes direkte gennem Hotels.com. Orkede ikke at argumentere, ville bare videre. Men ikke et sted vi har lyst til at vende tilbage til.

Nur für den Notfall ok.

Leider ist es extrem Laut in dem Hotel. Zu erst hatten wir ein Zimmer ohne Fenster, dann nach Beschwerde im Erdgeschoss. Dort war es extrem Laut bis spät nach Mitternacht, da daneben direkt eine Kneipe ist, die bis 3 Uhr in der Nacht sehr laute Gäste hat. Leider sind die Fenster und Wände kaum isoliert. Frühstücken kann man in diesem Hotel auch nicht wirklich gut.
