What a beautiful hotel. Superb location - couple of minutes walk from the central train station. Historic and charming - tasstfully refurbished and maintained. Staff and Sevice same and welcoming. Hotel Eggers was a great start to our vacation. Located at Gothanburg central station, it's so convenient. It's a safe area and very close to many shops/malls and restaurants. The rooms are a fantastic throwback to an older period, thinking of something late 1800s to the early 1920s. Adequately large for a couple, we took the king bed room. Everything was comfortable and functional. We even got little chocolates. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Honestly one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. Coffee or tea as you like it, a huge selection. Such a great cereal bar, an egg station, and cuts of meat/herring, a selection of fruit, and juices. A very nice start to our day. One small thing, completely understandable, was there no air conditioning. Would not have been a problem except there was a heat wave (yay, global warming) and we didn't get much sleep because it was so hot in the room. Keeping in mind that this is Sweden though, so normally there wouldn't be need of AC. We brought our portable fans (Amazon!) so it was OK after 1am. But don't let that stop you. The staff was above and beyond. Exceptionally flexible, kind and friendly. Would highly recommend.
