The Brookside is darn peppy with a great location on the edge of town. It's nice and comfy, with friendly owners and a great location next to the brook. Still has old-school charm without the rough edges that a lot of seasonal-town resorts tend to have. Noce pool, too.

Very quaint Adirondack cabin, a harken back to 1960’s family vacations, nice setting in Lake George village. Not ce alternative to higher priced fall foliage hotels. Good off-season highway access. Clean & cozy, but also needs attention - headboard fell off the bed when plugging into the wall, sink drain very slow, missing lightbulbs, bathroom floor & drapes could be replaced. Outside areas look nice.

Our room was comfortable and very clean. Bed were comfortable, bathroom was clean and updated. AC worked great. Plenty of hot water. Grounds had several grills and picnic tables under a covering. Grounds were immaculate and very well maintained.

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money for lodging and just want to have more money for activities in Lake George, this is the place to stay. The accommodations are satisfactory…you will have to share a kitchen, but for the money this is a good option. Lake George is expensive and if you’re the type of person that will only be in their room to sleep or change clothes, this place is an excellent choice. It’s not the Mariot, but it’s great for the budget conscious. For what it is, I’d give it 7.9 out of 10.

It was fine for the price. It was clean with a nice clean pool. Our bathroom walls could use some repair and a coat of paint but sink and toilet were new and clean. Shower/tub wasn't new but was clean and functional. Personally, I wouldn't prepare food in the kitchen because it is like an old cabin kitchen and not very appealing. I did borrow a knife from in there for my peanut butter. Very nice owners and staff - right off route 87. 5 minutes from Lake George village/lake. Our room (#2) had a deck overlooking the brook and sitting out there was very pleasant.

Annual Birthday Couples Trip

Fourth year booking with this location and I’m never disappointed. If you’re okay with a little bit of a walk to get down to the village it is perfect. Babbling broom can be heard from cabins. Porches on the cabins plus trees provide a perfect spot even on a hot day to relax. Clean towels provided daily if needed and staff is always friendly. Small community kitchen for people to cook and beautiful pool.

Pool side room with a brook in the back. About half a mile to town. Just take a shuttle for $1.00 which runs about every 20 minutes.Shaun at the front desk was a gem. Will be back.

Second time

This was our second time staying here. We loved the quaintness and serenity of the place and would definitely stay again. My only complaint would be the water pressure for the shower which was pretty much nonexistent. The owners are very nice and check in/out was easy. Also enjoyed some small wildlife around there.

The Brookside is nice & peppy with clean rooms and a great layout. We've stayed here a few times and have always been happy. The cabins are particularly cozy and away from road noise next to a nice stream. There's a fairly large pool, nice playground and also a picnic area with a large gas grill. It's about a half-mile from the center of town but it's a very pleasant walk.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Staff was courteous and friendly.Room was slighty dated, but clean. Ive stayed at this property in the past and a brookside deck has been added which was nice,but due to rain and cold, couldn't be fully enjoyed. The only real issue was that our reservation was for a king bed, and we were given two double beds. Meaning my wife and i had to sleep in separate beds. I could understand if they were at capacity, but they definitely were not. With that said, we'd likely stay here again and would probably recommend this property to others.

Our one night stay was fine in a regular motel room. The room was very clean but basic (only soap was provided, no shampoo/conditioner). Definitely a 'rustic/older' feel. Hairdryers were available at the front desk. Cute cabins in the rear of the property with surrounding river, picnic tables, etc., playground and community kitchen were nice touches. Impressed that they offered recycling. Very convenient location to the highway and main street of shops/restaurants. One negative was security; my room number was announced in the lobby in front of other guests. All of the numbered room keys were hanging in an accessible location when the lobby was unattended.
