I stayed at this hotel for a one-night short stay in Düsseldorf. I must say that the location is excellent, right in the Old Town and very close to the Christmas Markets.
I booked a Deluxe Double Room (No. 111). The room itself was quite small and a bit worn out, but it still maintained a certain style consistent with the character of the building.
Unfortunately, the hotel had a major flaw that significantly affected our stay. The pillows were extremely thin and soft, making it impossible to sleep. I called reception to request firmer pillows, which I believe is a reasonable expectation for a hotel in this category. I was told they would check what was available. About ten minutes later, a staff member arrived with half-size pillows, which were again very soft. As a result, the entire night was a nightmare and we were unable to sleep properly.
The hotel certainly has character. I appreciated the art throughout the property and the charm of the building, but it is disappointing that something as basic as proper pillows could not be provided. In addition, the in-room amenities were very limited and consisted only of a single bottle of shampoo and shower gel.
