Great rooms with door to the outside and small area to sit! Choice of buffet and a la carte restaurants - both excellent quality!

Nice comfortable hotel. But what’s up with 5 pm check in? That’s ridiculous for the price paid. Should be no later than 3.

Lovely hotel — the room was clean and spacious with a nice view, and dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent. A perfect location to stay on our way to Vatnajökull National Park.

A great hotel in the wilderness. The hotel itself is amazing but the approach road was under construction. The breakfast buffet was the best we had in all of Iceland.

Comfortable stay in the friendliest hotel

Excellent stay. The reception desk and staff at bar was very friendly. I had my hot chocolate during aurora show with me and it hot cold, the girl at bar happily warmed it up for me. They provide wake up calls for aurora viewing. The rooms have a view. We could see aurora without being in the cold. Super happy with the stay.

Rooms are small and basic. You stay here for the location more than anything. Food in the restaurant is really good though.
William, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

This was the most expensive 1night stay during our 2 week vacation around Iceland. It was probably the least accommodating and we were not impressed with the rooms. We stayed here towards the end of the trip, so we knew what to expect with “Europe style rooms”. Convenient location and two restaurants inside.
Katie, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

A great hotel in the Skatafell area by Iceland standards. Seemed related new. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was good. Like most hotels in Iceland they can work on room darkening shades. Other than that was a great place to stay.

Avoid!

Clean hotel. Rude, inhospitable staff at check-in and in the restaurant. Would not recommend. I recommend staying at Hotel Laki or a guesthouse for a pleasant experience!
1-night trip

6/10 Good

Hotel is very remote which makes it a neat experience. Feedback for the management would only be that the rooms are tired. Drywall patches, cords having everywhere, sheets felt pilled. Staff were lovely and the food was great, but again I think the rooms are ready for a refresh.
