I should start by saying that I'm very familiar with Tucson hotels- this is typically where I stay, due to price point, so I have a lot of experience with them. This hostal I had the poorest quality room I've stayed at in decades. Furniture, trim, walls are all extremely worn and paint is peeling in several places, including the bathroom. The air conditioner is a small high wall unit and doesn't do the job efficiently, and Barcelona is humid. Bathroom pad no. Bath mat, no. - which the description said avoid. Small tariffs was nice, but it is adjoined to the one next door so you can't leave here. Going to open to get some fresh air. I always saw staff once so it was hard to get questions answered. Windows are old and this is on a very busy/ noisy intersection. The reason for two stars instead of one is that there was some breakfast, which was n't in the description so that was nice, but mainly because it has a lovely outdoor terrace area with many comfortable place to sit and tons of potted plants and a view of the beautiful building across the street. It was a great place to have breakfast or take away dinner or just sit and read and it's shady and the laid afternoon and enjoys a breeze.

We loved this place. Clean, comfortable, and the hosts were very helpful. The rooms were basic but clean. The balcony was beautiful to sit on and enjoy morning coffee or evening wine. Coffee and water are complementary. We enjoyed the area. It was close to touristy sites but away from the crowds. Would absolutely stay again.

It was a little hard to find however that is the only negative thing. Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. We were able to leave our bags since we arrived early. Great location safe neighborhood restaurants all around. Beds wer comfy, AC, very clean access to cold filtered water to refill our water bottles. Very quiet never heard anyone else. They have a little breakfast set up for $5 euros great for early tours cause alot of places don't open that early. We had a full bed for my husband and I and our son Twin in same room but still spacious. We would definitely stay again!
