We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express as a stopping point along our drive to San Antonio. Check-in took a little while since there was only one person working the front desk, but the staff was friendly and welcoming once we got checked in. The hotel itself was clean and the breakfast was good, a nice way to start the day.
Our room (100) was just okay. The beds were comfortable, but I didn’t have a coffee maker like I thought I would (my dad’s room did). Unfortunately, the location of our room made it hard to get any rest. It’s right next to the side exit door, which slammed loudly every time someone came in or out, and that happened all night long. The walls and ceiling were also very thin; we could hear every step from the person above us, who seemed to be pacing well past midnight and up again at 5 a.m.
Overall, it was fine for a quick overnight stay, but between the noise and the room location, I’m not sure I’d choose this hotel again.
