A very nice hotel with modern, clean rooms with comfortable beds, an amazing view (we were on 17th floor), and a great breakfast buffet. The hotel was a quick taxi from the train station and one can easily walk to the botanical gardens and Odori Park as well as to the subway & streetcar. This was the best hotel we stayed during our 18-day trip through Tokyo-Tohoku-Hokkaido.

Location - not nearby the Main Street, good if you drive, few good restaurants nearby, and Lawson as well
They offer late night snack with free draft beer and lemon sour as well. MVP

Big room (for japan) with a view of Odori Park
Big room (for japan), located near Odori park. Good value, even provided free drinks to guests from 3pm to 7pm (and also later). Excellent service, arranged taxi to airport for us. Recommend ++++

The room was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable. For the most part, we don't hear any noises from the hallway or other rooms. The decor and bathroom fixtures were pretty oudated though. While not located very close (within 10-minute walk) to major attractions, there is a Family Mart across the street from the hotel and a subway station about two blocks away.

Offered different cultural activities. Need more drink and food in hotel for lunch and dinner. Very inconvenient trying to find a place when its snowing. And finding a place to do laundry or hotel Laudery service.

Really friendly and accommodating staff.
Good points were the lounge area with complimentary beverages and location is fantastic. I didn’t use the breakfast facilities so can’t comment but others said there was a great range but probably not value for money,
Negatives were lack of ironing facilities and the room, while non smoking, still smelt of stale cigarettes. The shower over the bath was a little annoying.
In need of a refurbishment but I’d happily book again.

Really nice place and near to the tourist spot.
The room is spacious but its smells stinky when we enter the room. We request for air cleaner but does not available.
We really enjoy the lounge. Its unlimited drink in the night time with a pika-pika and sweets food.
Definitely come back here. But hope our next room smell’s ok.

Great staff. Great hotel, big room, outstanding view, but getting outdated feature-wise. Could use separate toilet and bath rooms. Be nice to have an onsite onsen. Access to a microwave. Did enjoy the afternoon coffee area, but some additional food choices would have been nice.

Wonderful hotel. We checked in late (around midnight) and had no issues. Room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was amazing and included champagne for mimosa's! Walkable to akerenga and oodori koen. About a kilometer and a half from Sapporo TV Tower.
Tip: if you take a taxi back to the hotel, there is a Mercure Sapporo, and Grand Mercure Oodori Koen. This is "Grand Mercure Oodori Koen." The cab driver was perturbed that we needed to look up our reservation to confirm which location we were going to.

I was slightly disappointed in the rooms of the hotel. I was travelling for business and both myself and my colleague found the rooms smelly and stuffy. The beds were very comfortable though. Overall they were clean enough but the facilities were old. I had a very hard time turning on and off the bathroom sink. The main areas like the lobby and dining areas are spacious and clean and very modern. But overall was a bit disappointed in the rooms themselves.

definitely an older hotel. the hotel itself was HUGE with many entrances, kind of confusing on where the reception is as there weren’t any signs. staff know english so very easy check in/out. the room is also old. LARGE, compared to the usual rooms in japan. more western for sure. old outlets, lamps, buttons everything else but they do work. when you first come in it is stuffy but make sure to put the ac on! hint of a dusty smell but it doesn’t really bother you. nice view of the city (well if you’re on the right side in my case). you’d notice some stains, very faint. not in the hot spots in the city but close enough if you don’t mind a walk!
very decent if you’d just want the basics!

Grand Mercure Sapporo Hotel great visit location
Very nice hotel, staff excellent, breakfast broad - both Japanese and western food & beverages. Esp liked custom eggs benedict station. Complimentary lounge in afternoon & evening for free beer, coffee, tea and light snacks.
Room size (~265 ft2) good for medium sized Japanese hotel room.
Convenient that New Chitose airport shuttle bus ($12 ea way per person) stops at this hotel.
Safe in room large enough for computer, iPad and other things. But essentially on floor so required flashlight and laying on carpet to program first time.
Room needed book shelf in corner to lay stuff. Small round table w only one chair. Square table prob more efficient.
Bath fine. Good shower & tub room. Bidet nice.
Hotel very convenient to Odori Park. Autumn Fest on during our stay, so we ate lunch there every day. About 10 blocks of booths highlighting different food & beverage from many cities in Hokaido Prefecture.
Convenient to bus, train, taxis but great walking in all 4 directions from hotel.
