Set in a 1300s terraced cottage the owners provided their own parking spot for us around the back of property that was a little tricky to find but welcome because, the streets through town are narrow with restricted parking double yellow each side. The atmosphere was nostalgic and a bit quirky.. we stayed one night in a cosy bedroom with shower. Comfortable bed. Included a decent cooked breakfast in the downstairs dinning area on ground floor.

The owners went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They got up early to make us breakfast due to an early departure. The property is a listed building and is in need of renovation in some areas, especially the bedroom window in our room. Bed very soft but clean, towels, tea and coffee facilities provided and parking behind the property. Very close to several bars and restaurants

Had a light large room with en suite, if you want fancy then this is not for you, the couple running it are very easy to talk to and very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good, right in the centre of town.

Do book here if you'd like a warm welcome, clean sheets, tea and coffee with fresh milk in your room, an inclusive cooked breakfast, free parking, and a central location for a fraction of what you'll pay elsewhere in the town for room only. Don't book here if recently refurbished fixtures, fittings, carpets, decoration and bathrooms are important to you. The owners are lovely, and have owned the place for close to half a century. Appreciate that.

After we saw the room, we decided not to stay, it was absolutely awful, dirty, with horrible smell of mould. Also to mention toilet is not in a room but in a hall. Would not recommend to anyone.

Our stay wasnt u pleasant but booked for 2 nights 12 months ago to find out on arrival that apparently someone had phoned and cancelled a night even though there is no phone number to contact only an email?? So was really not happy as everywhere in the village was booked up

A very interesting period property built around 1610 with winding stairs and exposed beams. The lady of the house was very amenable and has been running the place for around 50years.

I booked this for a short one night stay on a budget. The property is not up to modern standards but as long as you are not fussy is ok. The owners are a lovely, helpful couple. Unfortunately it is next to a pub and on a Friday night there was loud, live music and there were still people out on the main street being noisy. Luckily I had some ear plugs with me.

The smell hits you when you arrive, chip fat possibly, everything is so old, carpets, furniture, wouldnt say clean either but exception for sheets and towels provided. Just needs selling and massive refurb.

It was so bad, we couldn't bear to stay for breakfast. The place reaked of greasy cooking smells. The building needed badly referbishing. The ensuite bathroom was a tiny cuby hole on the landing. The only window in our room was a sky light that had no blackout. Snoring could be heard through a thin wall adjoining the pub next door. Hotels.com should never had included it on their site. We felt they should have paid us to stay there. Never again.

So first we was driving in to the back area and we were met with a man who appeared drunk and could not reverse a car out, Then there was no where to park so at 11 o’clock at night we had to drive around but thankfully Pam helped us but as we walked though the door Pam was down our throats making sure she had her money. Then!! We got to our room and it appeared clean but stunk and very old bathroom was poor, didn’t even want to brush my teeth. The bed was comfy. The next morning the breakfast was poor she offered my partner gone off milk but advised against her using it. Everything was greasy but it was ok ish and fair prices but I would love to see the the kitchen And I never saw the old bloke. Overall, do not go.!!!!!😬😬😬

We tavelled to the Copper Kettle by bicycle Lovely landlady. Very helpful and let us put our bikes in the shed. She really made us feel welcome. The B&B is in a very old property and there are lots of quirky, odd angles and walls but even so the property looked tired and could do with redecorating. The shower in our room had a kinked hose and the shower head wouldn't stay in its holder so we had to use it hand held. The beds were odd sizes too and my mattress was lumpy. The hotel was well situated on the main street and only 300m from the Brewery tap - excellent beer and pizzas. The cooked breakfast was excellent and fueled us up ready to take on the Cumbrian hill on our bikes.

Cheap and cheerful, in need of a lot of tlc. Room 5 was fine although the bathroom floor was very uneven. Breakfast was good, other meals were okay, you get what you pay for! Had to wash everything when we got home due to the smell of fried food.
