My stay at Tasman Bay Backpackers was great, the staff were really friendly and welcoming and the hostel was clean throughout. It’s close to the centre of town but very quiet at night. The nightly chocolate pudding was a nice touch and great opportunity to chat to others in the communal areas.

Lovely friendly and welcoming stay

We were going to be late arriving adter the ferry broke down. An email was replied to quickly and an envelope with access codes left taped to the door. Thank you. Lovely friendly and homely stay, staff were very gelpful and the chocolate pudding and ice fream delicious, thank you again. Good location, quiet but easy access to town. Would definitely use again.

The people are very noisy downstairs. The positive thing I can say is the place is ok and gardens homey and free pudding and ice cream but yes only good for one night stay coz of the people who stayed there longer are noisy. That’s the truth.

This is an awesome backpackers! Located 5 minute walk from town, well equipped for travellers, with plenty of additional thoughtful touches to promote a sense of community for those that stay. Out door hammocks, and garden seating areas, an indoor fire, comfy couches, an electric piano, guitar, a clothing trading chest along with chocolate pudding and ice cream served each night at 8, all promoted a sense of home away from home. Staff were friendly, efficient and the kitchen was clearly signed with instructions to promote a clean well functioning area. There was a lovely vibe and sense of caring amongst visitors. We loved it!
