We arrived on a Friday afternoon at Hotel Casa Loreto in San Miguel after 3 nice days in Guanajuato. Upon entering the cobblestoned courtyard and parking area, it was apparent how beautiful the Casa is. It is a beautiful hacienda the color of blue periwinkle. The pool off to the side. The casa almost felt welcoming. The manager mechanically checked us. Throughout our stay, the vibe was anything but welcoming except for the other front desk personnel and the cleaning lady. Breakfast consisted of 3 bites of fruit with a splash of yogurt and unknown grains scattered. The kitchen lady had little to no affect. The wall had more personality. When we arrived we had to sign a waiver that anything extra was to be charged. When asked if I could have a second cup, the manager gave me an eyeroll, and a sigh. I received two plops of coffee in my cup. It was as if I were asking for a limb or a vital organ. My husband was told he would be charged for a second cup. No second cup was had. We told the house cleaner we had left her a tip, proceeded to go to our room, took the tip and left the room a mess. I ended up making the beds which took all of 5 minutes. Our room was really beautiful. I loved the vaulted brick ceiling, beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with beautiful shabby-chic accessories. We booked this hotel for its pool and were not able to use it as it was too cold and not heated. All in all, it was an okay stay. Just wish the service was better.
