I booked this stay last minute and immediately tried to cancel it but Bergen Guesthouse does not accept cancellations. The property is close to the city center, inexpensive and newly - in progress - renovated. However, the walls are paper thin, the rooms lack comfort (our window didn’t close properly, only a ceiling light, no bedside lights, the power outlets didn’t work properly, no TV, no mirror). One full bath and one out of order bathroom to share between 4 rooms on the level we stayed. There were no supply of toiletries (minor but this was advertised) and on the last morning someone had removed the skeleton key to the full bathroom. No privacy whatsoever. On our last night someone arrived at 1am and immediately started yelling that they didn’t not want to stay at such sub par property. They continued for half an hour, left in a huff only to return some time later with more loud talk. I slept 2 hours max. We left early on our last day only to return for a forgotten item. Our code did not work anymore. 8 calls later returned only a voicemail saying they were unavailable (there is no staff on the property and the emergency number is not serviced). This property can best be compared to an inexpensive college dorm in the US. Bring shower shoes and risk someone walking in on you showering. There was an open hole in the wall by the front door. Also limited toilet paper. I will be submitting a complaint to the Norwegian Forbrukerrådet. This property should not have a permit.

Gammelt og nedslitt. Lytt mellom rommene og ut på gata. Manglet heis. Lite møbler på rommet. Måtte dele bad og toalett. Kort vei til bussholdeplass. Tilgang til kjøkken med utstyr, komfyr, oppvaskmaskin og 2 vaskemaskiner.

Rena rum men spartanska. Säng, sängbord mindre samt klädhängare. Lite trångt rum om man har mycket packning. Ingen parkering så närmsta parkering typ 5 min promenad men öppet vilket innebär att man vill ha sitt bagage på rummet. Inget avställningsrum så det kan bli trångt på rummet. Vi bokade genom Hotel.com och där stod det under FAMILJEVÄNLIGT: Kylskåp på rummet Kök på rummet Vi trodde att det fanns kylskåp på rummet i och med det som det stod MEN det var i gemensamt utrymme. Det gäller inte ha med sig för mycket som skall hållas kallt. Guesthotel kunde ändra texten till att det finns gemensamt kylskåp med typ 5-6 rum som utnyttjar kylskåpet!
