The Lodge at Jaguar Reef is in a fantastic location, and the facilities are generally quite good. We have stayed at the lodge four times, each in a different room, and have found the accommodations to be fairly consistent.
During this visit, however, we encountered some maintenance issues. The plunge pool in our room was not functioning, several lights throughout the room were not working, and there was some flooding due to the rain. The staff promptly addressed the lighting issue, but unfortunately, the plunge pool was not fixed during our stay.
The location and grounds at Jaguar Reef are truly beautiful, but the food is not. It is quite overpriced and not particularly good, which seems to be a common issue at Belize Collection resorts. As a result, the resort’s restaurants are often empty.
We typically choose to dine at local restaurants or other resorts, but we continue to return to Jaguar Reef because of its great location.
A quick note for future visitors: The hot tub and pools are not heated and close early at 9 PM. so selecting a room with a private pool might be a good option for you.
