Great place to stop over and explore the Northumberland National Park. Very pet friendly accomodation and bar. All staff were very helpful and welcoming. We really enjoyed the evening meal.The menu is vast and caters for all dietary needs. Large portions and very tasty -compliments to the chef. The inn has a really comfy cosy atmosphere and we had an amazing view from our room. The breakfast was very generous with great service too. Highly recommend.

Lovely room , very clean throughout , comfy beds and pillows and very spacious. Staff were lovely and so helpful. Delicious breakfast. Able to choose britvic juices as well as jug of orange juice to drink, filter coffee or tea. Wide selection of cereals but none gluten free so I had the yoghurt honey and large selection of fresh fruit, along with vegetarian breakfast. Will definitely come again

The views of the Simonside hills were wonderful The staff were amazing and the food wow thats the best lamb i ever had massive portions cooked to perfection. The cooked breakfast was wonderful again cooked to perfection. I cant wait to go back.

Loved this hotel and its location. Stayed in the garden room which was great with a dog. Right behind the hotel were fields and a river where we enjoyed lovely walks with our dog. The owner, George, and staff were very helpful. We ate in the pub because of the dog which sometimes was noisy but a minor thing overall. Would definitely stay again. Cragside was very close well worth a visit.

Been here a few times and we love it. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and the place in general is always clean. The breakfasts are spot on and the bar and rooms are dog friendly. The view over the hills from the Beer Garden is outstanding. There is also multiple different paths for dog walking nearby. There isn't loads to do in the village but if you're looking for peace & quiet, you'll definitely find it here, although Rothbury is just a couple of miles down the road. The only downside is that the Garden Room needs some kind of a canopy to protect the patio from high winds when sitting outside on sunny days. The Garden Room could also do with some blinds to allow light in but to also remain private from people walking around the garden, rather than having to close the blackout curtains. Some outside seating areas are in need of repair and most of them need a new lick of paint/varnish. To reiterate, this place is lovely, just needs a tiny bit more attention to the cosmetic side. I've no doubt if you visit, you won't be disappointed :-)

We had a nice stay, on arrival taken straight to our room by a very nice young man who helped with our bags, the room was nice with a lovely outlook. Overall every where clean good food and very nice staff.
