We got in late. Got to the hotel around 1am, tired and just ready to lay down. The gate code did not work, after several attempts, finally, a gentleman came out and advised what to do, unlocked the gate and we were able to enter. The place is pretty ran down, in obvious need of a major overhaul. But to be fair, the next day we were able to meet the operators, including the ONE cleaning lady, and they were super attentive. Yes, the place is not fancy but the rooms were clean and it had everything we needed including a full kitchen; it was downtown Houston on a main strip, near lots of food, shopping and entertainment. In the daylight hours we realized that several rooms were being renovated, just not mine, yet. Honestly, once settled in and realizing how convenient the location is and how accommodating everyone was, the need for modernization faded. I remember thinking "once they finish the renovations, it will no longer be affordable or accessible. " I would definitely come back, if ever given the opportunity. I'd love to see the finished, renovated version of the Galleria Parc Hotel and Apartments. Staff certainly make the difference in the quality of your stay.
