Stayed 2 nights. Friendly staff and free parking was easy. DLR station within few minutes walk. Will stay here again when visiting east/central London.

Fabulous pub and hotel with some historic charm. I had a great nights sleep and the room had everything I needed including a large bottle of mineral water. The room (3) is large with good WiFi, tv and Coffee/tea. Best of all it had a bath. Though hot water only came through for about 3 minutes I managed to fill it to be Luke warm. Then the plug very slowly lets it out so topped it up and repeated. If this was a good plug it would save them water. Food in the pub downstairs was great and plenty of drinks choices and all at a reasonable price. Definitely stay again and I prefer it to the travelodge and premier inn. There’s parking, but I didn’t use it so not sure about costs.

Great pub/hotel. Had to wait for reception and no offer of help with my bag up many flights but great location and good value food/drink. Room was clean and had what I needed. Good value considering cost.

Ideal location for the MCM Comic Con and for other events at the Excel. Decent sized room, amc although fairly basic offers everything you really need. The room was clean and good value. The only problem I had was the kettle not working properly.

Lovely pub hotel. Very close to excel 5 mins walk. Lots of character, cosy clean rooms and excellent value for money. Showers not great, hot water suddenly turns freezing cold. Food good downstairs and staff friendly and helpful. Will stay again :)

An independent jewel with character in the middle of corporate Travelodge/Ibis chains. Good beers, good food, great staff and large rooms.

Room was amazing. Simply amazing, room came with everything you could need, kettle, fan, safe. Beds comfortable Check-in was simple and was allowed to park in the car park before check-in time. The manager in the evening was extremely helpful as needed to leave early hours of the morning and car park is locked for safety reasons. All staff I spoke with were friendly and helpful and we would certainly use the fox again!

6/10 Good

The location and pub are nice. The room was small but that was fine. What really bothered me was the visible layer of thick brown dust on top of all the high spaces. Not a regular amount but the amount that shows it hasn’t been cleaned in over a year. Then there were the window sills. They had a thick layer of black greasy dirt at all the panes. I tried killing a fly against the window and the paper that hit it came back with black streaks. It is a shame because the staff were amazing and the building is great.
