This was our first time in Liege, so we weren't familiar with the area at all. Needless to say, we were extremely happy with the Hotel Hors Chateau. It's incredibly charming with just 9 rooms, and each decorated in a unique and fashionably modern way. The brick walls and decor are too cute! The hotel had just one employee assisting us...who also happened to prepare a personalized breakfast for us the next morning! Room comfort is a 4/5 only because our room was just a bit cold even with the heat...
I have been to Maastricht several times in the past and stayed in different hotels. This is the best one I stayed so far and is a very good value. First, it is close to the station. True, it is not in the old part of the city but the proximity to the station is very convenient. Drop off your bag and go. This is one of the most amazing hotels I have stayed at. The outside is a small unassuming alley, but open the door and a beautifully constructed hotel. The decor is simultaneously modern and classic all at once, and the rooms are clean, modern, roomy, with great amenities. Staff were very courteous and helpful, and gave me a tour of the hotel before walking me to my room and going through it's features. It simply *feels* good to be here, and I was sad I only stayed one night.
