We booked a last-minute 13-day stay at Pervasi Suites at Embassy Gardens in Accra, Ghana from May 9th–22nd.
The good: Embassy Gardens itself is beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained, the pool area and restrooms were clean, there’s a lovely restaurant on-site, and the front desk staff were consistently pleasant and helpful.
The issues were with the host and the room management itself.
We booked a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit specifically because it advertised two TVs. One bedroom had a TV but no remote. We requested a remote at check-in and followed up multiple times throughout the stay, but never received one. We also dealt with several smaller but frustrating issues that added up over time: missing basics like a can opener and corkscrew, dead batteries in the AC and TV remotes, garbage not being removed, and very limited housekeeping (the room was cleaned only once during our 13-day stay).
Individually, none of these issues were catastrophic. The real problem was the lack of responsiveness from the host. Calls and texts often went unanswered, and we frequently had to repeatedly follow up just to get basic assistance.
Overall, we left feeling adrift and unsupported as guests, which put a damper on what otherwise could have been a wonderful stay.
Host: please do better with communication, responsiveness, and setting clear expectations for your guests.
