8/10 Very good

Converted castle property, very scenic exterior and courtyards but rooms are a bit dated/unmodern and uncomfortable - dark, cracks in walls and floors, peeling paint, incredibly thin walls (could hear neighbors and their dog quite clearly), lumpy bed. Great jacuzzi, sauna and steam room facilities. Pool side drinks, but way overpriced (as was the laundry service which lost my shirt for a day). Breakfast was fantastic, great quality food and variety. This area is not tourist-developed, and this facility may be the finest place in the area; it just has its limitations, but it is still good. Our main problem is we stayed on a weekend, and the grounds were being used constantly for 2 weddings and a birthday party, all of which we could hear all day and night. But I understand, it may be the nicest place for these events, and we picked a weekend stay, so that is just the deal of the cards.

4/10 Fair

I booked suite with balcony, one king size and a twin size bed, they gave me a simple king room. After insisting I got a king bed and 2 twins in one room, king being in the same room in the loft, so not the suite I was expecting. No balcony. I’m not sure they actually had the room I booked… Breakfast was included but breakfast buffet was nearly empty at 915am despite the hotel being mostly empty. Second morning we had breakfast at 730am and breakfast buffet was even more empty, same 6 slices of bread were there from the day before and obviously not very fresh. After asking for some fresh bread I was told the only thing they could offer was crackers. Dinner was average as well.

Fint hotell i liten by på italienska landsbygden

Ontbijt is goed.

Sympathique hôtel

Bon hôtel. Original dans une ancienne demeure. L’accueil est sympathique. La bâtisse est ancienne avec du charme. L’entretien pourrait être un peu amélioré.

A little gem

Hotel was just what I/we were kooking for - small, cosy, quiet, relaxing, safe. The stay did start with a very unfortunate booking issue as the description of rooms on Hotels.com did not match reality. 2 bedrooms transpired to be one room with pull out sofa! The staff did their absolute best to avoid a disastrous start to our holiday, so after a shaky start, we managed to fully unwind and enjoy the rest of our stay.
Peaceful
