We flew all the way from New Zealand looking forward to a relaxing stay, but unfortunately this experience was anything but relaxing.
We booked a room advertised as having two double beds, only to arrive and discover it contained only one. Reception informed us that the property does not have any rooms with two double beds, despite this being how the room was advertised.
After countless back-and-forth communications with the hotel and UDTM, as well as additional costs for international phone calls and roaming charges, no solution was offered. We were refused an alternative room and received no refund or compensation for the false advertising.
Because we had booked well in advance and it was short notice, alternative accommodation would have cost us over $1,000 more, so we reluctantly stayed. The hotel later updated its listing to reflect the actual room setup, yet still offered no compensation beyond a $50 voucher for a future stay which we found insulting as we had no intentions of returning given the circumstances.
The bed was smaller than a standard double and very uncomfortable. The shower also drained poorly, causing water to pool around our feet, with debris appearing to come back up through the drain which felt unhygienic.
Overall, the misleading room description, poor customer service, lack of accountability, and substandard facilities made this a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
I have attached photos for reference.
