Too hot

After setting the thermostat to lowest setting 22 degrees. Came back to room after normal work day to room at 60 degrees celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit). Opened a window, set the thermostat again, came back couple of hours later at 30 degrees. Much better but still warm. Window stayed open rest of stay. 0-8 degrees outside January weather. Aside from that great hotel! Loved it.

일단, 호텔 건물 외부에서 봐도 전체적으로 어두워서 현재 운영중인게 맞는 건지, 영업을 폐쇄한 건지가 구분이 잘 안되는 점이 가장 취약점. 막상 정문을 열고 들어가도 전체적으로 어두운데, 수년 간 호텔이 왜 어둡게 유지하는 건지 의문이 드네요. 객실 크기가 마치 일본의 보통 호텔처럼 작습니다. 특히, 일반 객실 트윈실은 두 개의 싱글 침대 간 간격이 있디보니, 2인이 활동하기에 협소하지요. (약 3년 전에 친언니께서 사용하셨을 때, 협소함에 놀랐었습니다!) 애초어 대도시도 아닌 (땅 여유 많은) 군산이라는 곳의 호텔 객실을 왜 그리 작게 설계했는지가 의문입니다. 대도시/수도에 비하여 땅값이 저렴한 중소도시답게 객실 크기나마 여유있게 설계했으면 좋았을텐데요.. 신혼부부인 아들 내외를 위해서 예약할 때는 스위트객실이 없었던 거 같았고, 투숙 당일에 쳌인해서보니, 더블베드의 일반 객실 내 여유 공간은 그나마 트윈 객실보다는 나았었지만(여행용가방을 제대로 펼 공간은 있어보였음), 신혼부부인데 엘레베이터 바로 앞에 위치한 게 안되겠어서 살짝 안쪽의 객실인 스위트객실로 바꾸게 됐었어서 14만원 이상의 추가 요금을 치렀습니다.. ㅜㅜ;;(이 객실 들어갈 땐, 객실 문이 살짝 열려있었어서.. 헉? 스위트객실, 빈 객실인데 잠궈놓지 않다니?? 하고 놀라서 프론트직원에게 알렸지만, "놀라셨나 보네요.." 등의 공감은 없고, 그냥 "환기를 위해서 열어놨다."고 대답해서 오히려 제가 놀랐네요, 혹시라도 아무나 빈 객실에 드나들었다면 어쨌겠나??"라는 불쾌감이 살짝 스쳤거든요. 질문: 환기를 다른 방법으로는 할 수가 없나요? 직원들은 특별히 친절하다는 느낌 보다는, 그냥 사무적이라는 느낌이었습니다. 다음에도 이용할 일이 있다면, 과연 이 호텔을 이용을 고집하게 될까?? 갸우뚱하며 아쉬워 했습니다. ㅡ.ㅡ;; (이왕이면, 조금이라도 넓은 객실 공간을 갖춘 호텔, 전망도 좋은 곳을 찾아보고서 꼭 군산이 아니더라도 인근 지역에서라도 선택하게 될 거 같네요.)

일반적인 4성급 호텔을 생각하시면 안 되지만, 군산이라는 것을 감안하면 괜찮은 숙소입니다. 다만 호텔 수건에서 무슨 행주 냄새가 나서 새걸로 교체하였는데, 새 수건도 방에 비치되어 있던 것보다는 나았지만 냄새가 많이 났습니다. 짐(gym)에 있는 수건도 비슷한 걸로 보아 세탁업체의 문제가 아닐까 싶은데, 호텔 관리자들이 진심 수건 냄새도 안 맡아보는건지... 어디 삼류 모텔 수건쓰는 느낌입니다. 청결한 거 중요하게 생각하시는 분은 비추입니다.

데스크 직원분은 친절했고 룸도 깔끔하게 잘 관리되고 있었음. 주차장도 나름 여유있고. 3명이었는데 룸은 호텔인걸 감안하면 엄청 좁다고 느끼진 않았음. 단지 호텔 주변에 편의시설이나 음식점 부족한건 감안해야함.
