The room is very small and the bathtub is high to climb over. They give you one free small plastic bottle of water per night. They have a free coffee machine in the lobby. The onsite coin laundry is helpful, though the front desk ran short of 100 yen coins. My room had a badly cracked sink but was still usable. The housekeeping staff are very efficient. Some of the front desk staff need improvement. There is an active construction site across the street. There may be extra noise during daylight hours. Still the price was affordable given the location.

Location is very convenient, and this is a nice, safe, quiet part of Tokyo, if you prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle of busier Tokyo neighborhoods. Many dining options nearby, as well as shops like Muji. Right on the Ginza line, so convenient to get around to Asakusa or Shibuya, or a short walk to Kanda to hop on the Chuo line to get to Shinjuku.

I had a good stay at the hotel, room was enough for me and it was very quiet. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. It is very conveniently located, about a 20 minute-walk from Tokyo station and with a metro station about 5 minutes away. Only catch would be the strong cigarette smell in the room that just would not leave no matter how much I opened the window or sprayed the provided air and fabric freshener. It was apparently a room in which smoking is allowed.

I spent 2 nights here as a solo traveler. The good: the hotel is at an excellent location, walking distance from Tokyo Station and a short block or so away from high-end shopping and restaurants. The hotel was also well-priced. The OK: it is an older hotel, so not as shiny as other places I stayed at. Older carpet, small TV with only 4-5 Japanese channels, older bathroom. You get what you pay for. The bad: I was on the top floor and the internet never worked. I brought it up with management 4 times, and I was told that sometimes it is not working at the top floor. (...wifi worked on the ground floor.) Also, I asked for a late checkout, and was told that there is a 1000 yen charge for each hour. Overall, I was not staying in the room much, so for the price, safety, cleanliness, and location, it was well worth it.

The room was very cozy. Perfect size bed for a single person. The pillows were AMAZING! I enjoy going to Smile Hotel cause the staff are always helpful and nice. Everything is always nice and clean. It’s wondering going there.
