Perfect spot to rest in between Mendo and Ft Bragg. Clean, quiet, pickle ball courts, private path to labyrinth and beach, fire pit for morning coffee. We will be back!

Loved our partial ocean view room and the short walk to the beach. Took advantage of the soaking tub. We will be staying again when the restaurant is open. Next time we will bring our dog as the grounds are perfect for our four legged guy.

Room was great, however, I took the wrong trail to the beach for the path is not well marked. The hours of the spa/gym is not conducive to early risers. It didn’t open until 8:30 and I like to be able to work out at 6:00am and then have time to get ready for what we have planned for the day. Great place for those that enjoy pickle ball!

A fabulous property that recently went through a complete re-imagination. The rooms are spacious, have great amenities, and are well maintained. The beds and bedding are fantastic! They are still working out a few minor aspects, but overall this is a GEM!

Beautful room. Everything was new. The hotel was in a great location with beach access. Access to staff and some general needs were challenging as you would have to walk to the main building for communication. Coffee in the room was very luxurious!

We had a wonderful stay! The room was clean and had everything we needed. We loved the back patio and open space to the garden, the short walk to a semi-private beach, and the pickle ball courts. The property was well maintained. The renovations and overall design of the room was great too— you can tell they put a lot of thought into it to make sure guests feel comfortable and relaxed throughout their stay.

Had a wonderful stay at Mendocino Cove! They were pet friendly and had a dog bed, bowls, treats and even towels for our little pup. Amazing grounds and property is well kept. Location perfect with a labyrinth and easy trek to the beach. Room was perfect for our daughter's birthday getaway. Had a bit of wifi issue upon check-in, but it was resolved the next day and didn't miss it all too much. It was relaxing and they really try to focus on wellness. Played some pickleball and the new courts were great! Can't wait to return once they have the spa up and running. Highly recommend staying here!

I loved this place! So clean, modern and very well designed. There is only one thing I would change - I wish the shower had a hand held shower head too so I could clean off the sand from my dog. Or maybe an outdoor shower station for the dogs as they come in from the beach? That would help on cleaning up the rooms after as well. But overall - Bravo! This place rocks.

Mendocino Cove is a work in progress as they are undergoing a renovation, and per their handout upon check-in, they are doing a 'soft opening.' The room was nice, and there is a short path down to the cove. The tub is great, and we appreciated the pour over coffee. If you love pickleball, this is the place for you. Mini-fridge is fine, but a microwave would have been nice. However, the mattress was way too soft or old. For some reason, there wasn't a top sheet over the fitted sheet. The internet is slooooow. And the TV? Horrible. No instructions on how to operate, and then when you figure it out, the reception repeatedly freezes. Amenities such as breakfast, hot tub, and sauna are not yet up and running.

My husband, dog, and I stayed at Mendocino Cove during their soft opening in June 2026. The property was so peaceful, pet-friendly, and extremely clean. It was a little zen oasis between Fort Bragg and Mendocino. It was so convenient to have to have pickleball courts to play at anytime, and the private beach was an absolute gem. From staying in room 3, it was nice to have a little semi-private patio looking into the garden, too. It was really nice to sleep in a bed where I couldn't feel my husband moving around on his side of the bed because there are separate comforters. It's easy to tell that the owners really thought about minor details to make the stay comfortable. There are nice shampoo, conditioner, lotions in the bathroom and a beauty/makeup mirror. While we stayed, the restaurant, spa, and gym were still under construction so we hope to come back when those open in the summertime. There were a lot more rooms still in construction so perhaps the next time we come back will feel more lively and crowded. Nonetheless, the location was lovely, clean, and a relaxing getaway from the Bay Area. You're a few minutes drive away from restaurants, grocery stores, and coffee shops in both Mendocino and Fort Bragg.
