We were happy to find an affordable hotel in the Monterrey area during a very busy week. The property was impeccably clean and conveniently located. However, the room we got did not match the photos on the Hotels.com page. Furniture looked older and more worn. In any case,the hotel did meet our need for an affordable, convenient overnight stay.

It was a nice room. But no air conditioner. But the cool breeze was nice. The toilet lever did not work. So we took the back lid off and pulled the chain. It was a little pricey for the condition of the place . But it served the purpose to get some sleep to be ready for the next day’s adventure.

Staff was very pleasant & accommodating. Motel is very old, not mad at its age. My complaints are simple fix: MOLD on shower ceiling in the bathroom & lots of it, also room for 4 & only towels enough for 2 or 3. Not worth over $250 a night, maybe $70 unless you add dome paint & fix all of the crooked things: microwave, wall heater, refrigerator. Please fix those things, we'd love to stay there again...I stayed there 40+ years ago as a kid.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an excellent stay at Old Marina Inn during our Big Sur and Monterey trip. We were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a very spacious room with three queen beds, which made our stay extremely comfortable. The property was very quiet and peaceful, allowing us to relax after long days exploring the beautiful Monterey coast and Big Sur. What truly made the experience special was the exceptional hospitality from the front desk staff. The lady at the front desk was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Her kindness and willingness to assist made us feel genuinely valued as guests. The location was also very convenient for visiting Monterey, Carmel, Point Lobos, and Big Sur while offering a quieter and more relaxed environment away from the crowds. Overall, this was a wonderful value and a very pleasant experience. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Old Marina Inn to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, quiet, and affordable base for exploring the Monterey and Big Sur area.

The location is great, and the owners seem very nice. Pricing was fair compared with other accommodations in the immediate area. However, I would recommend going into your stay knowing that this is primarily a place to sleep rather than somewhere to expect a lot of amenities. The room was clean for the most part, although I did not use the shower. I checked in late and forgot to ask for the Wi-Fi information, and I was unable to find the Wi-Fi details posted anywhere in the room. You are also issued only one room key. There is no air conditioning, which is definitely something to consider depending on the time of year you plan to visit. There was an older fan in the room, but unfortunately it was broken and did not oscillate. On the positive side, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the location is convenient, and you are close to the beach. Overall, if you are looking for a reasonably priced place near the beach where you can get a comfortable night's sleep, this serves that purpose well. Just keep your expectations reasonable when it comes to updates, amenities, and modern conveniences.

the staff seemed nice and welcoming. however, the rooms were quite outdated and had a strong and musty smell. the floors creaked and you can hear every noise through the walls. i did not feel particularly safe as a solo traveler. especially once i realize there was only one flimsy lock on the front door, and that the windows were only held shut by a single piece of wood. its not in a particularly bad area of town, but i definitely did not feel as safe here as i did in other motels just down the road.

Convenient stay near the highway. Very spacious room & were able to park right in front of room. There was no hair dryer but went to front desk to ask if they were provided and was given one to use! An older hotel but worked fine for the one night
