It was great. We arrived a bit confused, as there was a surprise Kraftklub concert at the venue. I expected a calm and quiet vacation with my mom after going to the local spa, but this was better! Security and staff let the very few guest at the hotel "attend" the concert from our window views. The town is definitely mostly car-friendly, and many things are closed for the winter, but the concert was awesome!

The room was amazing & the view even better! Driving up to the illuminated castle was magical, when we arrived it was dark & we didnt see a single person. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. I loved the integration of modern convenience & styling while keeping the historical feel of the castle. No problems at all with the self check in, the key box was easy to find & the fob was easy to use. Breakfast was super tasty and plentiful with made to order eggs. Delicious cocoa was brought out for our boys while we enjoyed cappuccino, espresso and fresh orange juice. My only regret is not booking 2 nights so we could explore the area a little more and take the tour.

We arrived late evening, however a staff member was still on site, she was very pleasant and extremely helpful, made us feel “at home”. The castle has been kept very authentic and would be exactly what someone would want to experience in a castle built in 1283, absolutely amazing place. Would recommend anyone to stay. However a couple things we noticed, after dark there are little to no light sources past the main entrance, the grounds where very dark and interior stairways, making navigation of the stairs up to the guest rooms a bit freaky and difficult. Another recommendation would be to have portable fans available for use inside the guest rooms.

Nothing like a room in a schloss with no staff on site and no amenities to speak of. Cheap elements in the renovation really brought down the room from the cheap plastic floor already peeling up to the pieces falling off the very narrow bathtub. It was an experience, but I’m not sure if I would recommend it for anybody other than wedding parties. The town lacked anything of interest so this definitely isn’t a tourist destination.

6 star experience. Wow wow wow. We were greeted by Michael, the former mayor of the region, who gave us a behind the scenes tour of this majestic property, complete with views into the Harry Potter themed rooms and historical knowledge of the castle. All staff were super attentive and our room was literally fit for royalty. We went for an early morning hike through the onsite vineyards followed by a champion breakfast served in the courtyard. The castle is an absolute gem and we didn’t realize that it can host conventions, weddings, business retreats and more. These great people and their property deserve your business.
