I cannot speak on other rooms at this motel but room 15 was a mess. Stained sheets, dusty & sticky…everything. Room just clearly had not been cleaned in a long time. Staff was willing to change the sheets but they still were stained & had burn holes. There is also a $52 deposit due at check in - they will use this deposit to run your card again a hours later. Be sure to get your receipts! Overall location isn’t bad! Plenty of food, shops & pockets of community nearby. Seems like they’re doing renovations so fingers crossed for upgrades coming their way!

My fridge didn’t work, the shower wouldn’t drain, and the sheets were dirty. For $90+ per night, it was not a good experience for me.

Location is okay but the place was terribly dirty: dirty and sticky floor, dust in the bed, sticky stains in the table, and super smelly perfume they use on the bedding and curtains. Not worth the price.

For the price of the room, you pay for what you get. The down side to that is that: the floors were dirty, like actually needing mopped, looked like someone spilled something and it wasn’t cleaned up properly. The sheets needed to look brighter. The bathroom needed a different shower curtain. It was dirty at the bottom. I wish I had taken pictures. I would’ve included them with this review.

Better than sleeping on the street. While I was staying there at first I was thinking to write an all bad review because of the stink, stained bedsheets, damaged doors, walls, disgusting bathroom and human hairs found everywhere. The old in room air-conditioning unit was very loud and old, so I've turned it off and kept it off the whole stay because of the noise, the fact that it was 2 feet from my head, blowing air directly in my face and because it looked like it hasn't been professionally disinfected or even cleaned in years. Worse I did not feel safe there. Then I reconsidered. The price of 90 USD per night in south Chicago in mid September was still cheaper than the majority of options available (with real established hotel chains often asking for 800+ USD per night). And despite a horrible first impression of being given a room the reeked of smoke (despite advertising as a smoke free establishment) the staff did what they could, and up on request I got another room that was at least aired out or ozone cleaned (based on the smell there). Also, though they charged 104 USD for the safety deposit and gave back only 100. At least they gave it back, which meant that I did not need to go to the police to get my money back, saving some time. SUM: you get what you pay for. Lowest price, with low quality. I can only recommend it to strong men who do not care about hygiene and are traveling on a tight budget. It is better than sleeping on the street.

I did not stay there i want a refund door man was rude and it is dirty and dangerous there all type of people lurking around room was not what i requested i will be disputing this on my bank card and when i got there he charged me a extra 50 dollars i need all that back i did not stay he said he would give me a refund i still didn't get it yet

We booked and paid for the room. When we arrived to check in they said the canceled the reservation so i never got to stay. Now i am having trouble getting my money back. This place is a rip off!

This property is just old and needs some repairs. Some effort has been put forward in this regard, but more would be nicer. There are wall defects and paint on the bathroom tiles.

Our room was so dirty, there were dead bugs on the walls. The drains in the bathroom did not drain, the table we had was sticky, there was old coffee grounds in the coffee maker, and we found underwear in one of the bathroom drawers. We didn’t even sleep under the covers because it felt so gross but the bed was hard and so they gave us was a couple sheets. The walls were dirty the door frames and the floor and stains all over them. There was dirt collecting on every inch of every baseboard. Terrible stay. Only did it for a music festival

At one point, Rainbow Motel.may have been down, but the new owners are worki g to turn the experience around. What you get: a clean room with TV and a comfortable bed and shower. But, youre also RIGHT across from arguably one of the BEST bakeries in the country (Weber's Bakery -fresh morning sonuts and pastries), around the corner from Chicago's most popular beef sandwich (Portillo's), within a 2 minute walk of several other restaurants as well as an Aldi, Walgreens and Ace Hardware. BUT... the big perk is a stop on the Archer line out front 50' away. (also a late night bus if you do a late Chocago night) and 1.5 mins walk from the OHare (330) bus. These things made it an ideal cheap stay in a clean room for someone who flew in and out with no car for a music festival. It was SUPER easy to get around and time transit. And dont overlook that late night bus perk. That said, if this is a family vacation, do your homework, but it was an easy yes for a single or couple of adults travelling on a budget.

Dirty and disgusting.

Came for concert at United Center. Saw priced at 177 night total 200 or so. Saw reviews stated cleanliness was 7.2 or higher on reviews. They lied. The bed sheets were inside out and dirty in underside. Pop splashed on wall next to the bed. Bathroom door didn’t latch, lock or shut tight; hairs and private hairs on bath towels. Bathroom sink and toilet hadn’t been cleaned. Everything was filthy. Seems they did vacuum maybe. The prices on the wall in motel office showers lower by a decent amount from what I paid hotels.com. Complained to hotels; complained to motel; no fixes.
