I needed a local room for one night with my 2 kids and this location seemed the best deal for a game weekend near Clemson. However, I did not realize this was an extended stay hotel with less than the typical amenities. I was thrilled to see a full refrigerator/freezer and kitchen on the amenities list, but surprised there was absolutely nothing else in the kitchen. I missed having kleenex in the room and minimal toilet paper provided. We had 3 staying and were only left with two sets of towels and no hand towels.
If I had been staying extendedly, I appreciate that the room was very clean. There was no carpet, so I believe that helps with the clean feeling. There is also a laundry basket and ample hanging and shelf space. However, the walls are SO thin! I hardly slept because I could hear full conversations from the parking lot, next door and the hallway. Noises were constant, potentially coming from above, below, or beside us - I could tell.
Also, upon entering our room, I noticed an immediate smell of lingering smoke, even though it was a smoke free room. It dissipated as we got used to it, but in the middle of the night I was awoken to the smell of cigarette smoke again. I went to the bathroom and was overpowered by the smell! Perhaps the smoke carries through the vents.
Also, in the middle of the night, a few large dogs started barking, quickly accompanied by guests telling them to shut up! Ugh, it was a long night.
The highlight was the receptionist - friendly!
