We waited almost 2 hours bc check in time on this platform is 12:30 but in reality it is at 2. They gave us welcoming drink which was lovely. The staff were approachable but seemed too busy and out of touch sometimes. It was a lovely environment.

Crusoe's is a lovely option if you want quiet and secluded. The grounds are lovely, there's a pool and hot tub, perfect when it's rainy and the views from the bures on the hill is majestic.

returned after 7 years, won't come back again

I've returned to Crusoes Retreat after 7 years, hoping it will be the same resort I remembered. But aparently lot has changes. Resort is quite run down. They are working on some renovations, but still lot of work ahead. We were 4 adults, they have organised an airport pickup for us, but sent a small car. It was quite uncomfortable, especially when the resort is rougly 2.5 hours drive from the Nadi airport. But what really spoiled the vacation for us were some of the resort staff. Especially the old lady serving food and taking orders. Cant recall if I ever met somebody so rude and useless. She was unpleasant and never made any order right. Quite a shame as most of the resort staff was actually quite nice. The hotel is also quite isolated and without a car, there is not a lot of options to get out. Hotel restaurant is ok, but quite pricey for what they offer. They say you come as a guest and leave as a friend, but that was definitely not our case. After this experience, I am sure I will never return again.

The cocktail bar right on the waterfront with stunning sunset views was unforgettable. The staff are very friendly and the food was excellent. The facilities don’t disappoint either. A hot spa after a long snorkel on the coral reef next to the resort was most enjoyable! I will certainly be coming to stay again when I return to Fiji next year!

An older but very clean and well Maintained resort. A lovely location- but the highlight of our trip has to have been the staff. Professional but so caring, friendly and helpful. Couldn’t really ask for More!

I booked 3 rooms, on one of the rooms the fan never worked, the other room ac was fixed @ around 8pm, one room had a dead lizard stuck on the door

10/10 Exceptional

Overall a great experience. It looks like some upgrades are occurring, which is encouraging. This stay is a little gem that really shines in the hospitality department. Staff are congenial, the offshore snorkeling is great, and it was a perfect place to land after a long-haul flight to Fiji. I’m looking forward to returning!
Rebecca, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The location was lovely, very peaceful and quiet. The beach front location and views from bure were stunning. Staff were friendly funny and accommodating. The bure was functional with clean sheets and towels plus coffee tea making facilities. Overall a lovely location with highlights like evening gamesand entertainment. However food and menu lacked variety and options.

8/10 Very good

Road in is not in good condition, seemed like a farm track. So be prepared for that, trust your nose and keep going. Resort is older and dated in places, but clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Nice to have a beach to swim in and a pool as well
Jackie, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Staff were always happy. Treatments ( facial, pedi and manicure were excellent). Housekeeping went the extra mile with fresh flowers in our room. Breakfast was included and was comprehensive.
Bruce, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Lovely and unspoiled. It was very quiet but it was great to disconnect from technology and just snorkle, relax and hang with my kids. The property does not have all the flash mod cons but it was amazing to be there. The food options were limited but the meals were good. We had fun playing on the broken pool table and all the staff were wonderful.
Rachael, 7-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Crusoe's Retreat is a 2-hour drive from Nadi Airport with shuttle options available. The resort had a fantastic common space, free wifi, free breakfast, pool, hot tub, pool towels, kayaks, and snorkeling, in addition to daily activities that provide an immersive experience into Fijian culture. The resort is one of the oldest so could use some updates to some of the infrastrucure such as loose deck boards around the pool, and not all rooms have air conditioning, but it's the staff and the experiences that really make the stay worthwhile. The friendly staff were kind and caring and treat guests like family. The food was worthy of a 5 star restaurant.
Samantha, 9-night trip

6/10 Good

This place punches well above its weight for 3 star accommodation. The rooms and facilities are basic but clean and tidy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Gorgeous location and views. The only let down was the menu. We ate there the first night and the marlin was caked in burnt overly salty spice mix and basically inedible even after scraping it all off. We ate at other places from that point but decided to give it another go on our last night. My partner’s battered fish was covered in chili oil which wasn’t mention on the menu board, and my chicken burger was an over seasoned chicken mince patty that looked like it was cooked from frozen. Really disappointing. I would stay here again but avoid the restaurant. This would have been a 4 star review if it wasn’t for the food.
Adrian, 4-night trip

6/10 Good

Pros: - comfortable beds and pillows - beautiful gardens - quiet, peaceful and relaxing - the staff were fantastic and made our stay positive - huge shower and piping hot water - wonderful views over the sea - a smaller resort so it had a personal, friendly feel about it - the facial we had was great, and left our skin glowing Cons: - the food was expensive and mediocre, and limited choice and variety - the prices for dinner were almost double the lunch prices so we didn’t eat dinner because of that - because of how remote the resort is, you have no other options for food if you don’t have a car - the room we stayed in was comfortable, but a bit run down and could do with some maintenance - the prices for activities, taxi and massages were more expensive than the other resort we stayed at
Kendra, 7-night trip

8/10 Very good

Great staff, friendly and helpful. Our booking was mucked up the first night and they gave our bure away which wasnt nice after travelling all day then needibg to get back in a car and move to a next door resort. They did fix it by giving a free massage and meal however we had to fight for this when we came to the bill. They also tried to charge us for someone elses food and drink. Otherwise lovely place with lovely staff
Tracye, 6-night trip

6/10 Good

This hotel is suitable as an average option for staying in Fiji if you don’t want to leave your accomodation. The hotel is far from everything, and you will need to drive 3 hours from the airport to get there. The road is not accessible by foot and there are no attractions, shopping or dining nearby. The free breakfast included is very limited (fruit and coffee and toast basically) and if you eat at the hotel you will be limited to their short meal hours from a very restricted overpriced menu with small portions. The facilities of the hotel are nice and the staff are for the most part friendly but they are at times quite slow to help you. Be aware you will be sharing your room with bugs due to the location, it’s not a huge deal but something to consider if you don’t like nature. The village nearby the hotel is beautiful and visiting it is the nicest part of what the hotel has to offer.
Andrea Sofia Acosta, 8-night trip

8/10 Very good

The view has certainly got the wow factor, we booked 5 nights in the deluxe beach bure which was a few seconds walk to the beach. However our room was not made up upon arrival at 9pm. The outdoor shower was lovely and we slept very well, super comfortable, huge bed! We liked the outdoor bed and hammock, room service every day. The food was very delicious, although a little more could have been offered on the menu. Breakfast was included, which was basic but did the job, we loved the bananas and papaya. They could do with buying a second toaster, as big groups stay here. Our only disappointment with the food was the $60 buffet offered on our third night, with no other options on the menu, this was unexpected and expensive! Free snorkel and kayak hire, The wifi was a little patchy but okay. The staff were super friendly, putting on activities each day. It is a remote resort, we had a car and left the resort once, the road is unsealed but accessible in a Toyota corola. Perfect secluded getaway, which is exactly what we wanted, we would go back!
Clayre, 5-night trip

4/10 Fair

Very sad to have such a beautiful resort run in a very poor way. Breakfast was said to be continental and being toast bread with margarine and jam, no other ingredients provided. The very first dinner was advertised as “marlin with wedges” and it came out the kitchen in super fast 3 minutes and dished out for us! Oaohhh!!!! But that was the worst ever see food dinner in my life. Definitely wasn’t marlin! And in the end they were trying to charge extra. 8-10$ / person for the dinner plates they thought that we are completely stupid and can’t remember the prices on the menu. Next morning breakfast we have trying to get a simple ham and eggs breakfast. Well that was just as disgusting as the previous nights dinner so we decided not to eat in the resort for any ordered meal anymore. We survived on the breakfast toast with margarine and jam and on the outside of the resort purchased ingredients. Do not except anything to eat and drink in this resort. They management is poorly experienced with their international customers and their needs. The staff is very kind but they are probably just following orders from the stupid money hungry management. The resort has absolutely no concept of costumer satisfaction, programs for their visitors while staying in the resort. This was a good learning trip for 3 of us from Australia. Probably never come back again!
