Good location for walking round San Francisco, only a ten minute walk from Crooked St. The motel was modern and clean. The only downside was the sound of traffic but it didn’t stop us sleeping after a busy city day. We were surprised at the $200 deposit taken when we checked in. This seems excessive especially compared with other motels of the same standard.

We were pleasantly surprised by this motel. The facility appeared to have been recently updated and the decor is awesome. The grounds are well kept, and the staff are very friendly. Most importantly, it’s centrally located. We were going to a night event at Fort Mason, and it was close enough to walk. When we walked back, we felt very safe. Would highly recommend.

The Star Motel is very clean, rooms have been updated nicely, and the property is neat and tidy. Parking is secure. Housekeeping is excellent. We stayed for three nights, over a weekend, and the neighborhood is quiet, Location is good, easy walking distance to Chestnut Street, Union, and Polk for eating and shopping. Close to the Marina. Lots of public transportation stops in the near vicinity. Will visit again!

Sam was very helpful from the moment I called to see if they had early check in, to the moment I checked out. He was quick to pick up the phone and very kind and helpful when checking us in. Clean, self parking, kind and helpful staff. The staff cleaning the rooms were also kind and would smile or greet us as they walked by even when they looked busy. Can’t wait to return! I definitely know where we will be staying.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Star Motel. The motel was clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the location, price, and free parking. The hop-on hop-off stops are close by. Easy walk down to Fort Mason. The neighborhood was quiet and had many restaurants near by. Definitely try Ly's Vietnamese next door. Their food is great and affordable. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family and will book again.

​I had a wonderful stay at this motel in San Francisco. The place was very clean, and the staff was polite and welcoming. The motel looks like it was recently renovated because everything feels fresh and brand new! On top of that, the location is absolutely perfect. Overall, it was a great experience. Highly recommended!
