This was an absolute perfect place to stay in Oban. Room was clean well maintained and super quiet. Wasn't sure about no window given I sleep with the window open at home however the air conditioning/heating system worked perfectly. Didn't wake up stuffy in the morning like would normally do. The room is spotlessly clean and check in was easy. This is so efficient! Guests should understand there is no outdoor space and you access the building electronically. There are no windows (which was a blessing because it is dark and quiet for a good night's sleep). It is steps from the train, bus and ferry terminals as well as close to the best seafood in Scotland. Hang out at an outdoor table at a nearby pub, enjoy the people watching, and go have a good night's rest before your next day's travels.

Park in the railway station carpark. The accommodation building is first left in the carpark under the metal stairs. It's £24 for 24 hours parking but worth it as room and parking still is less than most accommodation in Oban which also do not have onsite parking. Onsite parking at hotels is rare to find in Oban and every where else's room rate is double almost, which is a lot more expensive. The location is perfect. I was on the ground floor. Noise not an issue and I went to bed at 11pm and woke at 9am. No disturbance through the night. I will be back.

The Pierrooms is a great option for those looking to explore and stay in Oban on a budget. It has all the cleanliness and amenities of a full-blown hotel. The rooms are pretty small, but that wasn't an issue for us. The air conditioner in the room helps keep the room cool and comfortable, and keeps the air moving and from getting too humid. All in all, I would stay again!

Very easy access, my phone didn’t sync, I called the telephone # provided on the door , the assistant that answered was very polite, kind & was very happy to let me in. My room was clean, looked new, bed was comfortable, hot water, everything I needed! I spent another night here on my way back. Same experience, clean, new, comfortable bed & hot water.

So happy we booked again

We were looking for easy access to the railway station and ferry port - Pierrooms could not have been closer to both. The room is small but we were so impressed with the overall cleanliness and comfort of the beds that we booked again for our return journey. The only improvement I would suggest is a small shelf for the top bunk.

Not as I expected, very small and dark room with an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. I booked expecting a better quality due to the 8.2 rating on hotels.com, definitely not more than 7.2 in my opinion. The room is pretty dark and claustrophobic. Our room had a bathroom adapted for the disabled which made it not so suitable for myself and my husband. The sink was tiny with no plug which made washing difficult and the wet room style bathroom completely flooded when taking a shower which then meant you got wet feet when using the toilet for the next few hours. The bed was okay but not fantastic and as it was against the wall, i had to climb over my husband to get out of bed in the night to use the bathroom which then woke him up, not ideal. I didn’t have any contact with the owner or anyone else as it is an unmanned property. The location is fantastic but was difficult to find, clearer directions when booking was confirmed would have been very helpful. There isn’t parking anywhere near to the rooms and no road access either as it is literally on the pier, again, this information would have been helpful instead of having to go into the ferry office to see if they knew where it was. Overall a very basic rental which might suit many travellers but not for me unfortunately.
