Great hotel with a private beach but most importantly, A/C that’s stronger than an ox. In all of my travels all over Europe, this place has the best A/C I’ve ever encountered and as a fat boy, this is more important to me than running water. 10/10 will absolutely be back.

Can’t say enough good about the staff members! They were great. The hotel is cute but old and probably needs more attention on renovations. The rooms were ok, would have loved some extra attention on cleaning. The bedding was not great. Although the view is breathtaking, as it’s right in the sea. Sperlonga is a wonderful place! The hotel was at a perfect distance from the old town, a short walk in (10min) while avoiding the late night noice. The hotel is really nice with a good pool and sunbeds that are included in the room rate (unusual for Italy). The only negative part was the breakfast. Many choices if you like sweets but nothing healthy and steady. The scrambled eggs were made from powder and were not good. However, despite the breakfast, we’d really like to come back to this hotel.

This hotel probably saw its peak in the 1970’s. Aside from the fact that it’s right on a beautiful beach, there isn’t too much that’s great about it. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Our room hadn’t been updated since the 70’s and smelled strongly of mould. Beds were hard as rocks and shower was so small you could barely lift your arms to shampoo your hair. Breakfast was meh. Really no redeeming qualities aside from the beach. And it was expensive for the condition of the hotel. I would not recommend.

The location of Grand Hotel La Playa is perfect. This beach was clean, wonderful to walk along, and the water was perfect. Our stay was Sept 15-19, 2026. Weather was still very hot and sunny. The hotel includes 2 beach loungers and an umbrella. They assign which one you get to use, so sometimes that is a bit odd, as we were set up next to other guests, when so many other lounge sets were empty. But that wasn’t a big problem. Their breakfast is included, and coffee needs to be requested/ordered via the waiter. Food at the breakfast buffet was plentiful. Egg bites, cold cuts/cheese, toast bread, toaster, yoghurt, milk, cereal, tea, fruit, juices, and best of all…every table was served an entire plate of tasty sweets for breakfast. Croissants, cookies, plum cake, etc. A nice treat. The restaurant also has à la carte options if needed. The beach has a cute hut serving drinks/sandwiches and that is appreciated. Walking into the strip where restaurants are takes about 10 minutes…and walking into Sperlonga historic area is a HIKE. It’s uphill, cobble stones and lots of steps, but absolutely stunning. Well worth it, even if u have to stop and rest along the way as I did. There is parking permitted here, I am not sure if it is included. The rooms were comfortable, towels were fresh but there is only small bar soap and small bottle of shampoo provided. No other amenities. No water bottles No coffee/kettle We enjoyed our stay.

Very good hotel with its own beach. However, I would assign only 3 stars to this property (not 4 stars). The furniture inside the room is not solid but rather on a cheap side. Bathroom needs some renovation. Shower-cabin is too small (for 4 stars). Air conditioning system on the balcony was leaking. There was a permanent problem with electricity (lamps, receptacles were not working sometimes).
