Great communication and brilliant coded door access to building and room (uses your phone number), so no need to check in/out as such. Bed and fixtures/fittings were all high quality BUT there was no table or chair in the room (business trip, so I work in the room usually, and had to do this in bed here!), the communal space carpet (stair runner) was horribly grubby, and the walls were stripped of wallpaper and plaster missing in some places too, and left like that. The room was similar, in that wallpaper was stripped (with little bits still on) so it feels unfinished and dirty. I think it way be some sort of ‘shabby-chic’ look, only due to the high-end equipment, but it’s certainly for me.
Toilet and shower within 1M of bed, and no walls! I travelled alone, and while I’m sure some folk wouldn’t mind, being there as a couple and having to see, hear and smell your partner on the toilet is really not an attractive thought! Shower is not an issue, and aside from the sash window being open as it was hot, which blew the curtains open occasionally, giving the busy street a good view, actually the shower being next to the bed was surprisingly useful in hot temperatures to cool off quickly.
No designated parking (multi-storey car park very close though, £12.50 per night), no option for breakfast.
Noisy until about 23:30 due to live music from the pub. Personally that’s not an issue, but it may be for others. Absolutely no noise overnight at all after 23:30 though.
