The location of this hotel is hard to beat if you’re visiting Phillips Academy Andover. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel is well maintained considering the age of the building.
That said, there are a few drawbacks. The shower stall is very small, and the water pressure is quite low. There are enough power outlets in the room, but the voltage seems to be low, which makes charging devices noticeably slower. If you need to charge multiple devices such as an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods at the same time, you may need to use different outlets around the room to get them all charged properly. The rooms also feel somewhat dark due to the small windows.
On the positive side, the water is noticeably soft, which I really appreciated. The room was generally clean, although I did notice a few spiderwebs in some areas. There is also no refrigerator in the room, which is worth keeping in mind, especially for a longer stay.
Overall, the unbeatable location and friendly staff are the biggest advantages, particularly for families visiting Phillips Academy. The hotel is well managed for an older property, but some of the room amenities and bathroom facilities could use an update.
