The M Hotel is basically fine. The room is nicely designed, although it is a bit worn down. The location is good, with easy access to many places. However, there is one issue I cannot ignore. The reception charged an extra €16 for having separate beds, even though the booking confirmation clearly stated two separate beds. This was not indicated at the time of booking or in advance. I hope the hotel will look into this case, as this is not a fair practice, and I would not like other guests to experience the same. It is worth checking the bill and booking details upon arrival.

Room was filthy, strong smell of urine in the toilet, thick dust everywhere, shower was dirty and mouldy. Bedding stunk of old sweat. Poor quality mattress and pillows had the worst sleep. Room was freezing small heated provided that was a fire risk. Had the most annoying locks on the room door which would start sounding loud alarms. Felt really understaffed.

We booked a junior suite and it was very dirty upon checkin. Stains on walls, dirt on floors. Condition was also appalling and there was no hot water on second morning. No cleaning or tidying up was done during our stay. Restaurant downstairs has very poor service level with grumpy staff.

The hotel staff advised we could park for free by their lake but neglected to tell us that there was a marathon the next morning on their property /our cars got told away and had to pay £200 to get them back!! After 2 hours going to police station/recovery and On complaining to Reception they admitted should have put sign up there to warn all guests, they had told some people but not us and we don’t speak to the language/ understand the signs so disgusting and management are ignoring my complaint emails with receipts showing fines!

We had early acces to our room, which was good. But there was dust all alongside the walls. The bed was not steady enough, very soft matras. Also, someone from the reception walked into our room while we were in it. Without knocking! Very unprofessional. There were reddish stains on the bed linnen. After mentioning this to the front desk, we said we will not come back again. And the response was, well I think we tried our best. Only apologies, no resolutions to help solve the problem or to try have us come back again…

Stayed for 2 nights, Friday & Saturday - there was a wedding reception in the hotel on the Sat night meaning that other paying guests had to listen to loud music until 3am and loud guests returning to their rooms shouting in hallways and moving furniture in rooms (which you can hear through the walls) well after 3am. After trying to call reception for over an hour with no answer, I had to get out of bed to go downstairs to complain to the night manager Arno Raemdonck about the noise, but he only offered excuses and no solutions. I was later told by one of the barstaff that the wedding was hosted by the hotel owner and that they could not shut the music off because it was the owner's party! Absolutely NO consideration for paying guests. On top of this, when we arrived on Friday, the restaurant was closed with no advance notice to paying guests (and obviously closed Saturday as well). Saturday morning the cleaners were out in the hallways at 8am making loud noise to prepare the rooms for the wedding guests. When we asked for our room to be cleaned, the towels were taken away but not replaced, no coffee/creamer was replaced, and cleaning solution was left in the room. We asked for 2 additional pillows since the ones given were flat, but we were only given 1 (we were 2 guests). The air conditioning in the room didn't work. There was a strange mattress topper on the bed which kept coming out of the sheets (which had stains on). Decor is tired and needs redoing, do not stay here!!

Værelset var ok- dog uden varmt vand. Vinduer var ikke lyd isoleret og hotellet lå ud til en meget brugt vej- med et stort indkøbscenter. Vægge uden isolering- ingen tvivl om hvad naboen lavede. Ringe parkering og med en pris på 21 Euro pr nat - som ikke var oplyst. Valgt kun at være der en nat, da der skulle være bryllups fest og musik allerede fra eftemiddag. Og 2 nætter uden søvn vil være for meget. Så forlod hotellet og køret hele natten for at komme hjem.

Wij verbleven onlangs in het M hotel in Genk en helaas was dit een erg teleurstellende ervaring. De kamer voelde oud en niet goed onderhouden aan en de hygiëne liet te wensen over. Tot onze verbazing was er bovendien geen airco aanwezig, zonder dat dit vooraf duidelijk vermeld werd. Op een warme nacht was dit bijzonder onaangenaam. Alsof dat nog niet genoeg was, was het verduisteringsgordijn ongeveer een meter te smal voor het raam, waardoor de kamer al vroeg volledig verlicht was en we nauwelijks hebben kunnen slapen. Het grootste probleem was echter de afhandeling van onze betaling. Ons verblijf werd twee keer aangerekend. We hebben deze fout zelf moeten opmerken en toen we dit melden aan de receptie, werden we allesbehalve vriendelijk geholpen. er was weinig begrip of klantgerichtheid, terwijl het toch om een fout in de facturatie ging. Door de combinatie van van de verouderde kamer, het gebrek aan comfort, de slechte nachtrust en de onvriendelijke behandeling bij een financiële fout kunnen wij dit hotel helaas niet aanbevelen.

Tyvärr en av mina sämsta hotellupplevelser någonsin. När jag kom fram till M Hotel fick jag info om att något var fel med mitt rum och att jag skulle skickas vidare till "systerhotellet" Hotel Ecu. När jag gick dit visade det sig att jag fick ett mycket litet enkelrum trots att jag hade bokat ett rum med två sängar. Dessutom var kvaliteten mycket lägre på detta hotellet, än på M Hotel. Jag fick således ett väldigt dåligt bemötande och en otrevlig upplevelse.
